Lizard Island

As one of the most remote islands in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef is the breathtakingly beautiful all inclusive retreat of Lizard Island.  Located 45 minutes by charter plane from Cairns along the Northern tip of tropical Queensland, this quiet and secluded diver’s paradise is ideal for those looking to get away from it all and unplug from the rest of the world in style.

Encompassing 1,013 hectares with 24 beaches and a lagoon this island was created over 300 million years ago from granite rock and was declared a national park.  By day, experience one of the seven wonders of the underwater world and explore the world’s largest coral reef offering a dazzling display of colorful fish and sea life in their natural habitat.  Home to more than 1500 fish species, 400 coral species and six different varieties of sea turtles, get close to nature as you enter the fascinating underwater world.  Enjoy the calm waters of Anchor Bay and admire the clear aquamarine waters and underwater life in a clear kayak.  Get the most out of your stay at one of their nightly presentations where naturalists from the Lizard Island research center feature a presentation on the marine and terrestrial animals that inhabit this peaceful island.
