Celebrities and community gathered November 3rd to celebrate the opening of the Box Office Bar and Grill at the MGN Five Star Cinema in Glendale, California. The 10-theatre complex is a dine in, full service experience. With Thanksgiving around the corner, the Box Office Bar and Grill partnered with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and asked all guests to bring non-perishable goods. Celebs arrived at the restaurant and were extremely enthusiastic about donating what they brought. Throughout the evening Executive Chef, Abraham Isseks, originally from New York City, sampled items on the menu such as NY style meatballs, Fried Guacamole, Buffalo Chicken, and the show stopping New England Lobster Rolls. The venue was full of some of the world’s hottest social media influencers from Lexy Panterra and Twan Kuyper to Jason Nash and Innana Sarkis. Among the guests were All-4-One and Kelly Hu who were having a great time as they walked the carpet, donated canned items and joined the rest of the guests for a 10:00 showing of Doctor Strange. Other celebrity guests such as Billy Zane, Lauren Makk of ABC’s FABLife, and Tanya Memme of Hallmarks Home and Family were all smiles as they spoke about the LA Food Bank and how important it is for them to give back. The Box Office Bar and Grill is honored and thankful that the guests enjoyed themselves and look forward to being a prominent part of the Glendale area.

ABOUT Executive Chef Abraham Isseks
Chef Abraham Isseks was raised in the Hudson Valley, NY just outside of Manhattan, NYC. At a young age he began his culinary journey, starting in the kitchen of his family restaurant, Tony Boffa’s, in Middletown, NY, a staple in the community for over 50 years.
Moving up the ranks from dishwasher to prep cook to eventually line cook, Isseks grasped the fundamentals of a full service kitchen by the age of 18. After gaining a strong grasp of food preparation and menu development, he moved to the front of the house and started studying the art of proper dining room service. At 18, Abraham was trained in fine dining in the world class resort Mohonk Mountian House. Here, he learned the proper steps of formal service for dining and banquets. He also studied the art of preparing elegant cuisine while working with professional chefs from around the world.
Recently, Abraham relocated to Los Angeles California where he is heading up a new project which includes a 5-star luxury cinema, a full service movie theater, and a restaurant and bar. He has created a new American cuisine menu and tequila bar concept that is affordable and tasty which will be served during the movies and in the restaurant. This is a concept that the community of Glendale is lacking and will be embraced.
