On Wednesday Chefs Club Founder Stephane De Baets celebrated the opening of  Chefs Club Counter with a special VIP preview of the first “fine-fast” food concept with Chefs  Jean Georges Vongerichten,  Eggslut‘s Alvin Cailan and George Mendes. The space, designed by Fernando Santangelo, is located at the iconic corner of Spring and Lafayette in Manhattan.

Stephane De Baets, is the visionary Belgian entrepreneur behind the game changing restaurant group, Chefs Club. An offshoot of Chefs Club, Chefs Club Counter is the first-of-its-kind counter-service space that brings “fast-casual” fine food from famed chefs to the masses through Chefs Club Counter’s menu, curated by Culinary Director Didier Elena, a 20-year Alain Ducasse alumnus. Business development is helmed by Louise Vongerichten, who is expanding the brand on a national and global level.

 

 

The evening who was attended by close to 600 guests, including downtown’s creative luminaries enthusiastic foodies, neighbors, and influencers from all walks of life.

Bites included JG Burger Sliders, Duck Rice, Grain Bowls, Tomato and Stracciatella & Wild Mushroom and Chicory Pizzas, and Eggslut Crostini from Chefs Club Counter roster: Jean-Georges Vongerichten, George Mendes, Linton Hopkins, Magnus Hansson, and Eggslut’s Alvin Cailan as Ben Watts’ Watts Up Rosé flowed throughout the evening.

Chefs Club Counter is the first-of-its-kind counter-service space that offers a “fine-fast” concept from Chefs Club, the game changing restaurant group founded by Belgian entrepreneur Stephane De Baets. Opening in New York City in Spring 2017, Chefs Club Counter will offer a quick and affordable option for customers eager to taste popular dishes from some of the world’s best chefs in a relaxed and casual atmosphere, following a fast-casual business model. The menu, curated by Culinary Director Didier Elena, a 20-year Alain Ducasse alumnus, features select dishes available in a limited quantity for a limited time. Chefs Club plans to expand this novel concept exponentially in the coming years.

 

ABOUT CHEFS CLUB

Chefs Club New York is an innovative concept created in 2012 by Belgian entreprenuer Stephane De Baets. Guests can experience signature dishes of some of the greatest chefs from around the world. The seasonal, innovative menu is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience curated by Culinary Director Didier Elena. The dishes are prepared by the talented Chefs Club team in the open kitchen of the spacious Rockwell-designed brick-walled dining room.
