To celebrate the debut of Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel, the brand threw a grand unveiling celebration designed to engage guests with unconventional, immersive and interactive experiences showcasing the world’s first digitally enhanced and “living” hotel. Each experience and performance celebrated the hotel’s prime location in the Garment District, and was curated by a celebrity guest “Navigator,” Renaissance’s celebrated lifestyle concierges.
The lobby included a replica of fashion designer Timo Weiland’s own design studio featuring fabrics, machinery, instruments, and styles from his collection, allowing guests to become a fashion designer for the night.

Adjacent to the lobby, Andrew Zimmern, James Beard Award Winning TV personality,  hosted a VIP Navigator’s Table with a curated display of unusual bites, including sea urchin crostini with torched lardo, Hotel Saigon grilled beef rolls and griddled pimento cheese sandwich bites served with small cups of roasted tomato soup.
DJs Harley Viera-Newton, Alexandra Richards, Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein, Franco V, and Elle Dee each hit the turntables to spin throughout the night. Wyclef Jean and The Knocks headlined performances and came together to perform their new hit single, ‘Kiss the Sky,’at Renaissance New York Midtown’s restaurant, Rock & Reilly’s.
