elliman_1216_cover_final-13The Winter 2016 edition of ELLIMAN Magazine — the first ever “Art Issue” for a magazine in this industry — debuted last week at Art Basel Miami Beach. Special guests with access to the VIP Collectors Lounge at Art Basel and Design Miami received a sneak peek of the beautifully designed magazine, featuring contents that included bold-face names such as the cover subject, superstar pop artist Kenny Scharf.  Written by Kevin Sessums and showcasing exclusive photography, Scharf’s works strike such a cord that the official launch event paid homage to his style.  For the third year in a row, the magazine cover party has closed out the weeklong events hosted by Douglas Elliman and Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, where the brand showcases the synergies between the globalization of the art world and the real estate world.

The scintillating event took place at the ultra-chic 1 Rooftop at 1 Hotel & Homes, where guests enjoyed specialty cocktails at the “Scharf Shack,” took photos with three different pieces of Scharf’s works, and experienced his jaw-dropping visual assist atop the rooftop pool.  The striking works and ocean views were further complemented with music provided by the former Resident DJ for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Tony Okungbowa.
