Spend the day walking through the perfectly preserved past to take a glimpse at the power and immense wealth that presided over the area a century ago. The most famous mansion is the breathtaking 70 room Breakers that was once the summer estate of Cornelius Vanderbilt. The stunning Rosecliff was where the original Great Gatsby was filmed, and the opulent Marble House was inspired by the Petit Trianon of Versailles boasting over 500,000 cubic feet of marble.

Afterwards treat yourself to some smores by the fire pit that overlooks the ocean before heading to dinner at the Spiced Pear. Whether indulging in the New England Tasting Menu or dining at the chefs table, dishes change daily to highlight different locally sourced ingredients. Decadent approaches to traditional New England items include veal cheek with Tahitian vanilla and maple syrup, butter poached lobster with foie gras, and sirloin with a lobster and brie polenta, along with a sinful seasonal soufflé.
