As the temperature drops in the Northeast the scene in Miami sizzles even more. Adding to the roster of South Beach’s hotspots is famed restaurateur Arjun Waney’s latest LatAsian fusion restaurant, DOA, which is Japanese for The Door.  As Waney explains, it is the entrance to incredible food, drinks, fantastic service in an electric ambiance that is open until 5 am.  As the exotic flavors of Latin America and Asia overlap this new concept brings the best of both cultures to the culinary table with a vibrant menu that showcases Nikkei, Chifa, and Peruvian dishes.



Signature dishes include ceviches, glazed lamb chops, scallop tartare, dim sum, hot pots, and charcoal robata grilled meats.  At rising star in his own right, at only 24 Chef Carlos Estarita has cooked for some of the most famous kitchens in the world and trained under celebrity chef James Berckemeyer in Lima, Peru and brings an exotic flair to the kitchen.  To keep the libations flowing, Global Beverage Director James Shearer has created a bespoke cocktail menu that complements the Latin and Asian inspired dishes.  Drinks such as The Nikkei Spritz, Lychee Martini, and Apple & Shiso Mojito as well as a selection of mezcals, pisco, and Asian spirits are part of the eclectic and vibrant beverage program.  The centerpiece of the warm and inviting 5,200 square foot dining room is the open kitchen that showcases the culinary talents of the chef’s team while engaging diners.  DOA is a the perfect embodiment of South Beach’s rich cultural melting pot that takes guests on an unforgettable culinary journey.
