Featuring 189 suites, a spa, and a café, The Surrey allows direct access to the city’s upscale boutiques & restaurants, Museum Mile, and iconic landmarks.
Due to its love of the arts, The Surrey has decided to team up with Lincoln Center to bring about a Royal Shakespeare Company Exclusive Offer, a fabulous option for both New Yorkers and visitors alike.
On Saturday, August 13, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s tragic love story Romeo and Juliet will be presented in the Park Avenue Armory’s impressive 55,000 square-foot drill hall as part of this year’s Lincoln Center Festival.
With the Royal Shakespeare Company Exclusive Offer, guests will receive tickets to the show, as well as overnight luxury accommodations at The Surrey, exclusive access to the VIP Lounge at the Park Avenue Armory during the show’s intermission, and two complimentary cocktails on The Surrey’s private roof garden following the performance.
Select rooms at the hotel feature hand-painted wardrobes, fireplaces, and private terraces. The VIP Lounge is where the Armory’s priority members relax and unwind, all while enjoying décor inspired by different American aesthetic movements. The luxury hotel rooftop bar boasts new inventions such as the Blackberry Bramble and The 76th St., made with lime, club soda, orange bitters, and Patron Silver. The breathtaking views of Central Park surround the hotel, and the box trees, English dwarf lavender, and brilliant seasonal flowers can be seen perfectly from above.
All of this will be available to visitors who choose to partake in The Surrey’s exclusive offer.
This year’s festival’s main event, Romeo and Juliet, is one of over 1,050 performances presented, commissioned, and co-produced at the Lincoln Center Festival. The yearly event expands on the culture and ideas of the artistic area, representing over 50 countries and bringing audiences something that cannot be seen anywhere else.
The 2011 line-up also includes the Mariinsky Ballet, The Cleveland Orchestra, and Danish Chamber Music. More details can be found at www.lincolncenterfestival.org.
The performance will be brought to New York by the Royal Shakespeare Company, which was established in 1961 in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. For the past 50 years, the company has been awing the world with spirited performances. As part of this year’s Lincoln Center Festival, the company has installed a recreation of their Stratford-upon-Avon theatre just steps away from The Surrey, at Park Avenue Armory. Built in 1881, the Armory combines history and creativity in a way that is sure to impress all who take part in this exclusive package.
