SURFACE MAG x CHEF DANIEL HUMM ART BASEL 2017

Surface magazine, the American global contemporary design authority, teamed up with award-winning Chef Daniel Humm, currently on the cover of Surface's December Art Issue, to reimagine Eleven Madison Park for a special-edition pop-up to kick off Art Basel on Monday and Tuesday this week. Surface welcomed A-list members of the art, design and real estate community at a private residence to celebrate and relax leading into a busy Miami Art Week.

The invite-only activation was hosted at a recently completed Brodson Construction luxury residence, 4567 Pine Tree Drivedesigned by renowned Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan, which was opened to outside guests for the first time this week. With dock access to Indian Creek, the house has a series of broad, rectangular spaces that open to merge indoor and outdoor living areas and shape views of the water. The home is set in a landscape created by award-winning designer Raymond Junglesthat complements the prim geometry of the house with a variety of local plantings.

The daytime events, hosted by Sarah Arison, Zoe Buckman, and Sabrina Buell, offered dishes and cocktails from Eleven Madison Park including the Humm Dog, Dry-Aged Beef Burgers and Veggie Burgers. Drinks were provided to Whispering Angel, Prisoner Wines, and Blindfold Wines. Notable guests included: Laura Baldassari and Alberto Biagetti, Bec Brittain, Nick Brown, Simon Chaput, Alexandra Champalimaud, Rafael de Cárdenas, Casey Fremont, Alexandra Gorlin, Freja Harrell,  Misha Kahn, Karen Kice, Antonio Cersale, Chad Oppenheim, Eric Shiner, Ophir Sternberg, and Hank Willis Thomas.

Each evening the home transformed into a private dining space for a 4-course dinner, hosted by the industry's most prominent names in real estate, art, and design, including Barry Brodsky, Ximenia Caminos, Simon Castets, Arlene and Wayne Chaplin, Stephanie Goto, Bettina Korek, Kristin and Matthew Whitman Lazenby, Barry Sternlicht, along with Surface magazine editor-in-chief Spencer Bailey and CEO Marc Lotenberg. Chef Humm talked the evolution of his career and his appearance on the cover of this year's Art Issue. Notable guests included: Lindsay Adelman, Oren Alexander, Tal Alexander, Anda Andrei, Errol Antzis, Victor Bournaud, Kwame Brathwaite, Xin Cohen, Sara and Ugo Colombo, Sanjan Dhody, Jeff Dimodica, Robert Flaxman, Mary and Howard Frank, Marc Glimcher, Yoav Harlap, Thomas Jermoluk, Lio Malca, David Martin, Winy Masas, Mara McCarthy, Dora Nazarian, Jonathan Nesci, Michelle and Jason Rubell, Doug Rudolph, Stacey and Benny Shabtai, Robert Wennet, Gigi and Randy Whitman, Kulapat Yantrasast, and Bob Zangrillo.

The official vehicle of the Surface x EMP Experience was Porsche Cars North America. On display at the property was Porsche's GT3 Cup Art Car, painted by Miami street artist Jona Cerwinske, and the all-new Panamera Sports Turismo. Two chauffeured Porsche models—Cayenne S e-Hybrid, Panamera Turbo—were utilized for VIP arrivals and departures. Music being the essential ingredient at any party, Sonos partnered with Surface to create a playlist with Eleven Madison Park. Sonos reminded guests that music is just as important to the experience of your home as the perfect place setting or considered lighting. And with the new Sonos One — a beautifully designed smart speaker with Amazon Alexa capabilities — it's never been easier to get to 'play'.
