India’s Daughter is a documentary film that tells the story of Jyoti Singh, a 23-year old medical student from Delhi who succumbed to injuries sustained by a brutal gang rape in 2012. The women in India rose up in protest in a way that had never been seen before. The day before its scheduled release in India, the Indian government banned the film. It then went global with luminaries including Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Freida Pinto and of course, Susan Sarandon–- standing up and speaking out on behalf of the film’s vision of hope for change.

Melissa Cohn notes, “We could not have been more pleased with the turnout from dignitaries, those in the film industry and the real estate world. #WomenWhoLaunch promotes the empowerment of women around the world. We are gaining traction and this film has already led to major changes. My hope is that the continued awareness will finally end this vicious cycle.”
