A favorite Hamptons Hot-Spot is Now Much Closer to Home

Tutto Il Giorno, a longtime favorite on the East End, has opened a new location in Tribeca. The restaurant is known for their Southern Italian-style of cooking, and for combining flavors that will leave you wanting more.

 

Gianpaolo De Felice and wife, Gabby Karan De Felice, alongside Executive Chef/Managing Partner Maurizio Marfoglia, are the brain power behind this authentic restaurant; Gianpaolo wanted to share a taste of his home in southern Italy with fellow New Yorkers.

 

Chef Marfoglia prepares his phenomenal dishes alongside Chef Afostino Petrosino. The two utilize the seasonal ingredients Tribeca has to offer. They also make good use of the bounty of fish the Mediterranean Sea supplies. The polpo, or octopus as it’s known in English, is served with calamari and a variety of fresh, flash-fried vegetables. The branzino is composed from a De Felice family recipe and is a fan-favorite among regulars at the restaurant. The spaghetti pomodoro and the fettucine are two pasta dishes that never disappoint.

 

The new hot-spot has the ability to seat over 100 people, and is equipped with a lively bar, perfect for drinks and small plates—and people-watching, of course. Here, locals and tourists alike enjoy cocktails from Tutto’s redesigned drink menu, filled with Italian libations with a new twist. Their signature drink, Bicicletta, combines Apérol with a splash of white wine and soda to create a refreshing spritz. The Moschito highlights grappa with green grapes and a touch of lemon and mint. The bar also provides a small menu for those who would like a bite to eat with their drink. Pane Carasau, a traditional Sardinian flatbread, is addictive for many and complements any cocktail perfectly.

The design of the restaurant is subtle, and specific to this location. Gabby Karan De Felice has a taste for design, and for this latest venture she collaborated with architect Francis D’Haene, of D’Apostrophe Design. The Tribeca location is filled with industrial textures that are offset with warm lighting and floral accents. The artwork hung throughout is by the late Stephen Weiss. The bar is made from pure Italian stone, and is placed near the entrance to immediately welcome diners. The dining room features a communal table as the centerpiece, ensuring a lively atmosphere. Chandeliers were custom-made, hanging from high, vaulted ceilings. The lighting scheme promotes an intimate environment, and a touch of rustic Italy is added with the reclaimed wood floors.

 

The food and atmosphere Tutto has to offer ensures a pure Italian charm with a chic, modern twist that is a welcome addition to one of Manhattan’s hippest neighborhoods.
