On Location at The Corner

A Look at the September Cover Shoot Backdrop

By Pamela Jacobs

In the world of real estate, they say it's all about location, location, location. When you're photographing one of the stars of the hottest show on Broadway, and it's for the cover of your Fall Arts issue, location is everything.

We needed something spectacular. Somewhere that screamed New York, epitomized modern luxury, and was worthy of our gorgeous cover girl.

Enter The Corner. Located on the corner of 72nd and Broadway (which was fitting, given our star's credentials), The Corner is a modern classic. Built in 2010, this towering, LEED Silver Certified building with walls of windows features cutting edge design and all things contemporary. Yet with its spacious, light-filled rooms, sweeping Manhattan views, and ideal location, it's right at home in this very classic New York neighborhood.

Huge windows drench the 196 rental apartments with sun, while eco-logic stone countertops, Sub-Zero refrigerators, huge closets, and in-unit washer-dryers offer up the ultimate in lavish, eco-friendly living. The most difficult part for the producers of the photo shoot was choosing which room to shoot in first—they were all so perfect.

Of course, when we stepped onto the 10,000-square-foot landscaped rooftop terrace with stunning panoramic views of the city, we knew we had our cover shot. The photographer was positively giddy. In addition to some of the best views in Manhattan, the roof features a BBQ grill, lounge chairs, gardens, and various areas for relaxation.

Additional amenities of The Corner include a fitness center, a resident lounge with breakfast served Monday through Friday, yoga classes, bike storage, on-site housekeeping, cold storage, valet services, a children's playroom, and more. It's the very best of New York City living—in one of its very best neighborhoods.

In the end, The Corner turned out to be my favorite location for a cover shoot thus far, and certainly the spot for one of my all-time favorite views of this great city.
