Here are four beauty trends to watch for as spotted on the runways of NY Fashion Week.

Ombred Eyes

Evoking mystery and strength, the makeup for the Autumn/Winter 2016 Leanne Marshall show was all about the eyes. Janell Geason, Aveda Global Artistic Director for Makeup, used a variety of warm coppery hues for the deep intensity of color that flourished from lash line to brow, while keeping the rest of the face perfectly clean and dewy. "This is a beautifully strong woman who gains her knowledge through her eyes," Geason said. "The lids are coated with dusky matte shadows that diffuse into burgundy with a glowing touch of sheen. This look is definitely ombre for the eyes."

Loosely Fanned Ponytail

Inspired by Japanese street style, Zen gardens and strong female role models, the Charles Youssef Autumn/Winter 2016 collection featured prominent silhouettes with delicate detailing such as hand painted textiles and modernized sashes. A perfect match to the serene, yet striking feel of the collection, Antoinette Beenders, Aveda Global Creative Director, created a loose ponytail with conspicuous elemental features. "Full, thick hair is lightly cinched into the fluent Zen pony," Beenders said. "It's modern and strong, but it has soft, feminine details including shine, texture, and pony placement. It helps to tell the whole story of Charles' beautiful collection."

Partial Wave

Inspired by the hedonistic club scene of the 80s and 90s, the Jenny Packham Autumn/Winter 2016 collection showcased gorgeously dramatic gowns and cocktail dresses with fun detailing, ruffles and eye-catching shimmer. To evoke 'the last days of disco look', Aveda Guest Artists Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri created an elegant style with a party twist – a richly waved section of hair that falls dramatically over the right eye. "This is the street-vibe version of that classic Hollywood starlet look with elegant waves and a deep side part," Ryan said. "This look is strong, vibrant and modern."

In and Out Faux Bob

The Wild West of the 1800's met the streets of the Bronx, New York City of the 1970's for the Public School Autumn/Winter 2016 women's show at the Hauser & Wirth Art Gallery in Chelsea. Allen Ruiz, Aveda Global Creative Director, Hair Styling, created a smooth and full style that easily tucked inside and outside a collared winter coat – perfect for the frigid New York City February temperatures. "The 'in and out' faux mini bob was designed to keep hair sleek and cool, while its wearer navigates through the lawless elements of nature— all with a sense of determination and attitude," Ruiz said
