MISSONI’S SPRING PASTELS COLLECTION

Light pastel colours seem to be the spotlight of Missoni's pre-spring 2018 collection. Sporting a resort style, perfect for summer getaways, the new collection pops with colours of pink, blue and greens, among a myriad of other spritely bright colours. Quirky prints are brilliantly incorporated into skirts, jackets, pants and others. At first glance, the prints overwhelm you as all you see is clutter, however upon closer look, the patterns transform into beautiful pictures of green trees, mixed with other elements of a jungle or rainforest. A jumpsuit that I happened to glance over at caught my eye because of the disordered colours. There is no real order or pattern to the print on this cute overall, however there are these adorable and quirky little drawings of monkeys and some unusual creatures, which automatically draws you in. Other items, flaunt perfectly ordered patterns, with zigzag arrangements and geometric shapes taking charge. Among the patterns and prints, there are also many items, which sport a much simpler style, with block colours and subtle flare details to give character and texture.

This time around, it may not be all about the sparkle, but there is a bit of glitter in some of the items, which give it a more glamorous look and versatility to the design. A gorgeous long silver gown emitted a dazzling glare, which caught the corner of my eye. This gown is perfect to wear to a casual event or even a more formal event. It is easy to dress down with a belt, and dress up with a pair of sparkling pumps. This collection has all your summer vacation outfits and accessories all sorted.
