Quality Branded is based upon a contemporary take on classic American dining, rooted in history, in style of cuisine, service, and décor. Whether referencing turn of the century butcher shops, 1950s Italian-American feasts, or the quotidian diners that dot the American landscape, Quality Branded restaurants reinterpret the quintessential American culinary experience through a modern lens.


Quality Branded was established in 2007 by acclaimed father-son restaurateurs Michael and Alan Stillman, founders of TGI Friday’s and Smith & Wollensky. The duo became known as the “steak experts” having the proven track record to create and build new profitable steak concepts. Alan created Smith & Wollensky in the 70’s, which went on to become an internationally recognized brand. Michael then opened Quality Meats in 2006, which was named the top steakhouse in Manhattan in the 2014 Survey of New York City restaurants. Quality Meats was so popular that the group opened an Italian extension of the brand, Quality Italian around the corner in 2013 and a Quality Meats Miami Beach location in 2015.

With a growing appetite for steak concepts, Michael Stillman was ready for something new and different and started to think about the approach from an aesthetic design and menu standpoint. The team noticed a lack of fine-casual steakhouses and the idea for Quality Eats was born. Quality Eats created a new type of steak restaurant, designed for everyday, neighborhood dining that presented new ways to eat beef by offering creative preparations of “off cuts” different from what you would encounter in a traditional steakhouse.



With great success in the West Village, the restaurant has since expanded to the Upper East Side, with a third location opening this winter in NoMad. “Quality Eats has resonated with the downtown crowd and we are thrilled to expand to locations that make our vision of inventive neighborhood dining available to more New Yorkers,” said Michael Stillman, President and Founder of Quality Branded. “Like every true neighborhood favorite, Quality Eats is an extension of its community and will offer crowd-pleasing, risk-taking, fun, and wholly-satisfying food.”
