88GLAM: The Rise of Hip-Hop’s Hottest New Act

Canadian Hip-Hop Duo, 88Glam are in the middle of their whirlwind 2019 Canadian concert tour that featured twelve performances in an eighteen-day period this January. 88Glam will also be performing on the first day of the 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Founders Derek Wise and 88 Camino debuted the name in November 2017 when they premiered their first music video "12" featuring a cameo from The Weeknd and the first track on their April 2018 album, 88Glam Reloaded.  Their Second album, 88Glam2 released in November 2018 by XO Records and Republic Records includes collaboration with Gunna (Track #10 "Racks") and Nav (Track 6 "It's a Flex"). Both albums are available on iTunes.

Derek Wise began rapping at the age of 10 years old. Listening to an array of musical creatives spanning several genres helped him develop a sound that is natural in every setting; along with his command of rhythm and cadence, this is his greatest gift. Derek's unstable upbringing and his mother playing the role of both parents taught Derek how to be independent and the ability to rise above any circumstance, which presently is a common theme in much of Derek's music. His unique perspective is a result of his interests in classic mob movies and taste for culture.

88 Camino began rapping at the age of 17 years old. Listening to an array of musical creatives spanning several genres helped him develop a sound that has a lot of replay value. When 88 Camino was 9 years old, his mother moved away to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for school and brought him with her for a new journey. Eight years later, 88 returned to Toronto, Canada and had a mission to pursue music on a high level. After releasing a ton of previous music numerous years ago, 88 Camino has taken more than a year off to perfect his craft and he is ready for the world to hear his euphoric timeless sound. His unique perspective is a result of his interests in real life observations.
