The Power of Love: Fer Da Silva’s World-Renowned Exhibit Heads to Sofitel New York

On February 5, Midtown Manhattan's Sofitel New York will kick off the season of love with the unveiling of its newest lobby exhibit—a collection of vibrant works by artist Fer Da Silva entitled "The Power of Love." Colorful hearts of all shapes and sizes, collectively referred to as "Corazón de Fer," will be hung in the hotel's lobby and public spaces through March 15, spreading the artist's message of unity and love for oneself and others. All displayed works will be available for sale.

"Every heart is unique, filled with scars and shapes that make each one beautiful in its own way," says Da Silva. "'Corazón de Fer' is more than just hearts, though. It is a reminder for everyone to love who you are, to give love, to love what you do, and to embrace every part of your life. It symbolizes that the power of love enables us to achieve happiness and to live our dreams."

For the duration of the exhibit, hotel guests and residents can participate in a variety of love-inspired experiences, including a limited-time overnight package, a one-stop Love Pop Up Shop and special events that will benefit cancer research. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet (and even paint) with Da Silva.

Love Hour Paint & Sip: February 13, 6-8 p.m.

Guests can join a paint instruction by Da Silva where they'll create their own masterpieces on a heart canvas. At $85 per person, the class includes one Poçao do Amor cocktail and light bites. The signature Valentine's Day cocktail features Brazilian Cachaça, lychee puree, raspberry liqueur and edible flowers. All proceeds from Love Hour will benefit Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, a cause that is near and dear to Da Silva.

Fer Da Silva Live: February 10-16

Da Silva will set up shop in the hotel lobby for two hours each day during Valentine's week for visitors to witness his creativity in action. While painting, passersby will have the opportunity to make their mark on his next masterpiece by signing his canvas. The finished piece will be on display in the hotel for the duration of the exhibition.

Love Pop Up Shop: February 14, 1-5 p.m.

Located off the lobby in the hotel's private dining room, a one-stop Love Pop Up Shop will feature romantic gifts for purchase. Works by Da Silva, candles by The Sphinx and the Priestess, Gaby's macarons and more will be available for sale. And those in search of romantic guidance can participate in mini tarot card readings by The Sphinx and the Priestess co-founder and Tarot reader Hayley Elisabeth Kaufman. Sessions are $25, and sign-up is required.
