Candy Crush Friends Saga Celebrates 'Me Time' this Valentine's Day with a Restaurant Serving Solo Diners Only
What's the only thing worse than trying to get a reservation for two on Valentine's Day? Trying to get a reservation for one! That's why King, creator of the hit mobile game franchise, Candy Crush, is on a mission to make this Valentine's Day sweeter than ever for solo diners—and anyone else who deserves to treat themselves to a little 'Me Time'.
Candy Crush Friends Saga, the most recent addition to the franchise, plans to flip the clichéd 'solo = sad' Valentine's Day narrative on its head with a singles-only eatery in New York City. Hosted at Dirt Candy, an inventive Manhattan eatery known for its vegetarian tasting menus, SWEET'N SOLO will open for one night only, rewarding those that chose to play on their own this Valentine's Day when everyone else is focusing solely on couples.
Guests are in for a multisensory treat as the dining experience brings the sweet world of Candy Crush Friends Saga and its new Valentine's in-game event out of the device and into an IRL culinary extravaganza. The five-course tasting menu is filled with dishes inspired by the game and its characters—vibrant, colorful plates await! Similar to how players can unlock special in-game rewards and treats at home on their phones, SWEET 'N SOLO guests can unlock a secret menu filled with super sweet delights, as they play the new Candy Crush Friends Saga Valentine's Day themed levels throughout the evening.
"We're excited to be opening up SWEET 'N SOLO exclusively for solo diners this Valentine's Day, highlighting and celebrating the importance of taking time for yourself," said Sebastian Knutsson, Chief Creative Officer at King. "'Me time' is one of the best ways to reset and embark on a sweet escape, so we want people to treat themselves this Valentine's Day, whether that's indulging in a dinner for one or simply taking time out of their busy day to kick back and play a few rounds of Candy Crush Friends Saga."
The dinner comes coincides with a special Valentine's Day in-game event running from February 7th to February 21st. Candy Crush Friends Saga players will be sent to "Valentine's Valley", a parallel episode with 20 love-filled levels for players to enjoy as they unlock special in-game rewards, including an exclusive Nutcracker King of Hearts costume and a two-hour 'Instant Charge' pre-game booster, which enables players to unlock their chosen characters' powers more quickly.
Here are the details:
Candy Crush Friends Saga and Dirt Candy want to make sure each guest's experience is as special as possible, so the event is limited to just 20 diners, each of whom will enjoy a complimentary, multi-course dinner.
Free tickets will be released on Thursday, February 7th, on a first come, first-serve basis, but interested solo diners can also win a free ticket on social media! Just post a selfie or video, caption it with the reason why YOU deserve to treat yourself on V-Day, tag #SweetNSoloContest & #CandyCrushFriends, and you're in the running to win a coveted spot. The five most deserving winners will be announced on Tuesday, February 12th. For T&C's visit: http://to.king.com/VDayTCs
