Metrograph celebrated it’s 3rd Anniversary and the launch of Metrograph Pictures. The evening was hosted by Founder and President Alexander Olch and Artistic and Programming Director Jake Perlin along with Maggie Betts, Sara Driver, Debra Granik, Kenneth Lonergan, Oren Moverman, Dee Rees, Josh Safdie, James Schamus, Paul Schrader, Cindy Sherman, Patti Smith, Whit Stillman, and Trudie Styler

Founded and designed by Alexander Olch in March 2016, Metrograph is Manhattan’s first new independent movie house in over a decade. Three years after transforming the New York City cinema experience, Metrograph is growing the scope of its famed curation to reach audiences throughout the United States. Focusing on new releases and restored classics, Metrograph Pictures debuts with the opening of veteran filmmaker Claire Simon’s, “The Competition” (Le Concours,) a documentary portrait of the admission process at French film school La Fémis. Upcoming titles include Hyenas (April 28) and A Bigger Splash, the classic definitive biographical portrait of David Hockney (June 28).
