THE FARMSTEAD: Discover The Farmstead at Homestead Village

You’ve traveled the world: dined in Paris, danced in Rome, and climbed mountains in South America.  You’ve enjoyed the sights and sounds of New York City. Now, what you really want is a beautiful, maintenance-free place full of caring neighbors to call home base.  The Carriage Homes at Farmstead at Homestead Village provide an innovative, comfortable and plentiful space for residents to continue a full, active, and engaging lifestyle.  Residents Rick and Judy chose their home at the Farmstead because it includes a two-car garage (standard), an upper level deck, and a lower-level patio (also standard on a premium lot), and the ability to finish their walk-out basement—all perfect for entertaining friends or having comfortable spaces to sit and enjoy some quiet time.  The couple enjoys the timeless view of the Historic Lime Spring Farm from their patio, but they also enjoy the central location of the Farmstead—less than 3 miles from the thriving downtown of Lancaster, PA (one of America’s “Coolest Small Towns).”    “People want to continue their lives in a meaningful way,” says Judy, and “that means having the space to do that, but also not having to worry about maintaining it…” she continues. Since moving to the Farmstead, Judy has joined an exercise class, and is taking a spiritual and relational wellness course at a local counseling center, where she formerly served on the board.

Designed for residents 62+, Homestead Village’s one-of-a- kind and innovative program of “Thrive where you are” is based upon the idea that residents want to enjoy a lovely, inviting home and be able to receive services that promote their health and wellbeing in that setting.   For residents who choose to downsize to an apartment, each of our 111 apartments is licensed for personal care, so when someone needs some extra help, they can enroll in Supportive Services without the extra move! This is also a huge benefit to couples!

Homestead Village is also unique because of the resident involvement in leadership.  Four residents sit on our board of directors.  Over twenty residents serve as committee chairs for life enrichment committees—with even more residents serving as members at large, ranging from golf, to trips, to the HV Chorale.  Other residents lead the new resident welcome committee.   Monthly “coffee with the president” and resident council meetings also serve as sounding boards for achieving excellence.

Come see why US News and World Report voted Lancaster Pennsylvania the #1 destination for retirement, as well as one of the coolest small towns in the country.
