CAD & THE DANDY: Savile Row’s Largest Tailoring Brand

British tailoring is known for craftmanship and being classic throughout generations and this is something Cad & The Dandy strive to maintain. Cad & The Dandy are Savile Row's largest tailoring brand, who have expanded far beyond the UK with houses now in Stockholm and New York. In NYC the brand resides in the famous artist lofts of W57th Street, former home to Woody Allen, Ray Charles and the Stones. On entering Cad & The Dandy's showroom, expect more of a private members club treatment than a traditional shop; with the latest cool British indie music playing and an array of fine gins and whiskeys flowing, the team sure do know how to host. They have an assortment of the finest British and Italian fabrics to choose from, it's easy to see why Cad & The Dandy are the chosen tailors to Royals and celebrities alike – we could easily spend all day here. The uniqueness of Cad & The Dandy is that they retain the intricacies of traditional English handwork, but have been blended with a sleek fusion of modern style, slimmer shoulder padding and more pronounced waist, creating a look that is both contemporary and unique. The bespoke suiting process takes 8-10 weeks, with the consultations happening in New York, and hand crafted on the legendary Saville Row.

What are the essentials that every man should have in his wardrobe?

A perfect fitting navy suit that can work well for work, interviews, graduations, weddings etc

A go to sportscoat, preferably in navy with a soft touch fabric like cashmere which will be perfect for business casual and the weekend.

A classic black tux, because you never know when you need one.

What is the ultimate work to evening dinner and cocktails look?

A classic navy suit, it just works for all occasions. But do take off the tie for the cocktails.

It's wedding season – What should grooms be looking for in terms of trends, fabric, cloth for the groom and groomsmen?

Always dress classically for weddings, we all have seen the flared suit our father wore during the 70's, all of which dated badly. We suggest a light weight classic navy suit which wil always look smart and can be worn for years to come.

Cad & The Dandy are open 9am – 7pm Monday – Friday, 10am to 5pm Saturday. For appointments email nyc@cadandthedandy.com or book an appointment on our website
