JUNGSIK: O Tempora o Cibi!

Korean cuisine, which has been passed through generations, is mainly based on rice, vegetables, and meats. But why focus only on traditional plates when you can bring innovations to your culinary routine? Zingy and luxurious to the right degree, Jungsik New York offers the unique landmark Seoul experience paired with impeccable service to deliver contemporary Korean wonders to the table.

Located at 2 Harrison, Tribeca, Jungsik was awarded by Michelin with a string of stars for a reason. In its three tiny rooms with lovely lighting, which is just bright enough to see your food clearly, Chef Yim and his team conjure up new luscious masterpieces, bringing the pioneer influences of French cuisine and new Spanish movements into the Korean domain while staying true to familiar flavors of Korea. The state-of-the-art interior invests in a cozy yet upscale atmosphere of fine dining. The interior, filled with rich browns and chic ivory furnishings, has two long walls of creamy banquettes and alabaster table linens, screaming with modern elegance. The chairs are deep, and tables are well spaced to create a sense of Korean feng shui. Dark pottery and white porcelain also contribute to the symphony of the restaurant's harmonic refinement.

Most of the dishes on the tasting menu are offered in miniature portions to emphasize the uniqueness of each bite. Despite the presence of modernly inspired plates, the best dishes on the list have roots in classic Korean homestyle cooking that boasts bold flavors and playful odors. In the seasonal menu, we recommend sampling marvelous black cod with red pepper soy and shishito pepper, scallops with brown butter dashima and sancho jangajji and crispy fried rice cakes shaped like peanuts. To reach the apogee of your dining experience with Jungsik, try the sea urchin rice bowl with a light soy sauce, a touch of sesame oil that has been slightly refashioned, with a hint of toasted quinoa. For a dessert, taste french-inspired yet Korean apple tatin with coconut sorbet.

To the delight of its customers, the restaurant offers the extensive 48-page wine list that includes all shades of Dom Perignon and even "Romanée-Conti" Grand Cru Monopole, one of the most exclusive wines you can find. Wine pairing is available for each tasting menu to gain a deeper insight into the restaurant's culinary creativity. Indulge in the ultimate signature nine-course tasting menu with premium wine pairing featuring amazing wines like Domaine Leflaive, Opus One and Château d'Yquem.

Experience the paramount milestone in the history of contemporary Korean dining and let Jungsik's pleasures play on the tip of your tongue with its flavorful fireworks of culinary eroticism.
