STREAMSONG RESORT: A Luxury Golf Resort Like No Other

Driving up to Streamsong you will surely be taken back by this massive secluded modern edifice nestled in Bowling Green Florida. When you are golfing at Streamsong you literally feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, and the nature surrounding the resort makes you feel like you are anywhere but Florida. A lot of the resort's uniqueness is attributed to the fact that Streamsong is the former site of a phosphate mine. The Mosaic Company, the company who brought Streamsong to life, touts itself as the world's leading producer and marketer of phosphate-based crop nutrients—and is founded on a commitment to its surrounding resources.

The Lodge features 216 guestrooms, a state of the art fitness center, superb restaurants, a pool, and a rooftop lounge with stunning sunset views. Additionally, Streamsong offers sporting clay shooting, bass fishing,  archery, hiking, and bird watching. The spa is a destination all on its own, you are greeted by friendly and professional therapists who walk you into a room with several grottos of heated water and a cold plunge. The spa menu is extensive and, a relaxation treatment is necessary for both men and woman. Especially, after a day of intense physical activity.

I had a chance to sit down with Jim Bullock, the Director of Sales & Marketing to learn more about the golf resort:

How did the developers decide that this former mining site would be a great location for a golf course? The visionary behind the project grew up around golf, playing many elite courses, and upon surveying the land for potential reclamation, realized the topography and sand base were unique and unexpected. The sense of tranquility and isolation available at the site was the inspiration to create the destination golf experience at Streamsong. It was thoughtfully and intentionally created to preserve the story of the land and honor the natural surroundings.

What was the land used to create Streamsong like before the project was started? 

Very similar to what you see today – this is intentional.

What contributed to Streamsong's success? 

Far from the concrete, crowds, and chaos that cover much of central Florida, Streamsong's success is linked to a variety of interrelated attributes all of which have one thing in common –authenticity and originality. Last year the PGA launched a campaign to attract more women to golf, how is Streamsong reaching this demographic? 

Streamsong Resort has seen an increase in female golfers and guests visiting the resort and are confident the trend will continue. All travelers, but even more women, are seeking authenticity, intention, and enrichment; Streamsong encourages guests to explore and experience in an awe-inspiring, distraction-free setting, with packages that incorporate all the resort has to offer both on and off the courses. Most of our golfers – male and female – choose to relax post-round at the grotto-style spa or infinity pool with cabanas. Multiple restaurants offer casual to fine dining options without ever needing to leave the resort grounds, including a rooftop bar with striking 360-degree views. And for the more outdoorsy traveler or curious adventurer, they can choose to experience our guided bass fishing, archery, and sporting clays.

Are there any plans to grow Streamsong? 

Streamsong resides on 16,000 acres and at this time only 1/3 of the land is being used. While there are no expansion plans currently being discussed, our significant success in just six short years leaves the door open for future growth opportunities.

Streamsong's owners have an admiration and respect for the classic golf courses and the "Golden Age of Architecture" which is what makes the resort what it is.
