Frecciarossa: Italy’s newest high-speed train service

Experience the ultimate in speed and convenience with Italy's newest high-speed train service, the Frecciarossa. Launched on January 23rd, this non-stop service will transport passengers between Rome and Milan in a record-breaking time. The Frecciarossa, or "Red Arrow," is the latest addition to Italy's high-speed rail network. It is operated by Trenitalia, the national railway company, and is considered to be one of the fastest trains in the world. The Frecciarossa service runs on dedicated tracks. The Rome to Milan route is one of the busiest in Italy, and the Frecciarossa's non-stop service cuts travel time between the two cities significantly, allowing passengers to save time and make the most of their trip. The train is equipped with modern amenities and features, including comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, and onboard dining options. The Frecciarossa is also designed to be environmentally friendly, with energy-efficient systems and a reduced carbon footprint.

Previously, the fastest journey time between the two cities was two hours and 59 minutes. However, the new route between Rome's Tiburtina station and Milan's Rogoredo station will cut nearly 15 minutes off that time, covering the approximate 565 kilometers (350 miles) of track at speeds of up to 300 km/h.

Ticket prices for the new service, which does not stop at Rome Termini and Milan Central to "reduce congestion" at the main stations, start at €78.90/85.78 USD for a single. The train runs once a day on weekdays, with the Frecciarossa 9682 leaving Rome at 5:30 AM and arriving in Milan at 8:15 AM, and the Frecciarossa 9681 departing Milan at 8:44 PM and arriving in Rome at 11:29 PM.

This new connection brings the total number of daily Frecciarossa connections between Rome and Milan to 90, seven of which are direct. Additionally, there are 81 other Frecciarossa Rome-Milan routes that involve changes, with total journey times ranging from three hours and eight minutes. Italy's other high-speed rail operator, Italo, also offers 64 connections daily between the two cities, with a journey time of three hours and ten minutes.
