The Knickerbocker Hotel, managed by Highgate, today unveils The IcoKnick Series, a rotating art gallery showcasing the works of talented emerging and established artists in the New York City area. "The gallery's mission to support and elevate the work of local artists aligns perfectly with our own. This is a wonderful opportunity to not only honor the contributions of different communities within the city, recognizing their unique history and contributions to the world of art, but to also add a new dimension to the hotel experience for our guests and visitors."
Young, Gifted, and IcoKnick debuts with a showcase of diverse works by accomplished multi-disciplinary artist Quiana Parks; innovative mixed media artist Ronald Draper; masterful portrait painter Sophia Victor; and visionary Afro-Surrealist Tramel Blunt. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the artists' cultural perspectives and thought-provoking pieces through artist meet and greet held once a month in the gallery space, starting on February 16th at 6 pm.
"Our gallery continues to support emerging and established artists while making their work more accessible to the community. Partnering with The Knickerbocker for the Young, Gifted, and IcoKnick exhibition allows us to holistically fulfill our mission," says Stevenson Dunn Jr., Co-Owner of The Bishop Gallery. "Excited innovative artists need exciting innovative places to exhibit their artwork and partners willing to promote their art. The Bishop Gallery and The Knickerbocker's collaboration provide both these needed resources to four diverse artists from New York City during Black History Month."
The Bishop Gallery, a proud beacon of creativity in Brooklyn, shares unique perspectives with the community through art. The gallery is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity, striving to encourage the next generation of artists to explore their gifts. The partnership between The Knickerbocker and The Bishop Gallery introduces a new platform to feature local artists and their heritage throughout the year, creating an art oasis in the heart of Times Square.
