Fully Reimagined Presidential Suite at The Windsor Court Debuts After $2 Million Renovation

The Windsor Court, an elegant escape in the heart of a  legendary city, announces the fully reimagined James J. Coleman, Jr. Presidential Suite. Debuting a perfect mix of English hospitality in New Orleans with the hotel's classic, old-world charm and its British identity, the new exclusive experience inspires guests with contemporary European luxury. Boasting an updated floor plan of 2,800 square feet, the Presidential Suite offers modern amenities blended with tradition and local art and furnishings. New Orleans-based interior design firm Vesta Fort Interiors was tapped to re-envision the Presidential Suite's new look.

The inspiration for the space comes from an elevated, classic look with modern amenities while keeping in traditions and influence created by James J. Coleman, Jr., the original hotel developer. A New Orleans businessman and philanthropist, Coleman brought English designs with influences from East Asia along with a genuine love of Polo, resulting in The Polo Club and the overarching British luxury of The Windsor Court. Maintaining the original architectural footprint, the new suite now conveys a more modern and open floor plan that is lighter in feel. Located on the  22nd floor, the James J. Coleman, Jr. Presidential Suite is a spacious two-bedroom, two-bath, and two-half-bath retreat.

"The Windsor Court guest receives a premier level of service and autonomy during their stay in the  Presidential Suite. We are consistently elevating the level of service standards and anticipatory  response on our team to always exceed guest expectations," said Ralph Mahana, general  manager, The Windsor Court. "Our newly unveiled Presidential Suite allows our team to further  enhance the Windsor Court experience to truly wow our guests."

The foyer welcomes guests with a beautiful, detailed traditional wall covering created by Schumacher called Xanadu Landscape, inspired by the hand-painted Chinese wallpaper that  graced the walls of Queen Victoria's bedroom in Brighton's Royal Pavilion. Filled with birds and  roses and a beautiful entry table inspired by chinoiserie against the herringbone wood flooring  leads guests ahead to the grand living room or through a spacious hallway to one of the bedroom  suites.

The grand living area opens into a light-filled oasis with stunning views of the New Orleans skyline.  Anchored by a baby grand piano and a gas fireplace, the main living area embraces repurposed accent pieces that have very special elements to reflect today's indulgences while mirroring the historic nature of British luxury. A custom-designed dining room table has been created from Dop Antiques of New Orleans and sits in an atrium-like dining alcove on the far side of the living room,  that opens onto an English-style garden throughout the tiered patio and balcony. Complete with outdoor furnishings, tables, and chairs with lighting, the greenspace is designed by Dunn & Sonnier.

A tortoise coffee table by Kathy Slater sits in the center of the living room while four, exotic, Turkish leopard print pillows by Billy Baldwin Studio flank the table for additional seating.

Julie Neill Designs has created custom lighting for the rooms of the Presidential Suite and Fifi  Laughlin designed the lamps used throughout. Remote-controlled black-out curtains using the  Lutron communication system and sound system allow for an airy ambiance when desired, while also offering significant views of the Crescent City.

The living space powder room is a deep shade of rose wall covered with Calcutta marble. Paint color is a key part of the various spaces with three different, yet cohesive, color choices in every room to create a unique feel for each area while effortlessly blending the spaces of the suite. The soothing, muted pink of Farrow & Ball's Dimity is the base color for the rooms.

Oval Room Blue serves as the signature paint color in the kitchen and bar. Encouraging fun, the free-standing bar in the living room area is adorned with black quartz countertops, beautiful glassware, and top-shelf liquor. The Miele-brand espresso machine is available for coffee lovers and teacups grace the open cabinets while the wine refrigerator in the kitchen completes the space for all parts of the day's beverages.

The library is detailed with wainscoting panels and offers a gorgeous game table, comfortable seating, and desk area along with a powder room dressed in the classic Schumacher, Faubourg Brown, equestrian-inspired wall covering, serving as the aesthetic centerpiece of the powder room. Offering a great place to relax among books or as a warm spot to watch TV and even have breakfast or work at the desk, the library design feels light and includes a natural look with a pop of light pink in the wall covering. The built-in bookcase offers a curation of titles and some by local  New Orleans authors and an assortment of games, including classic board games and puzzles.

A discreet gym opens into the library, allowing for large light from the window views to fill the space while offering a Techno Gym bike and treadmill, a diverse weight system, and resistance bands and mats for a complete, yet exclusive fitness experience. The fitness space includes the Techno  Gym Interactive Workout and Television.

A pale blue fabric is featured in the primary guest room, along with other small pops of color throughout. In the grand bathrooms there are Toto toilets, with full bidet washing features, and steam showers. The primary bathroom has a stunning, metal free-standing Margaux tub from Waterworks while every inch of the bathroom is a rich, robust pink marble curated from form am3 Stone quarried in Alabama.

The hallway to the guest bedroom suite includes a butler's pantry with a completely beautiful bar filled with art and then opens into a guest room with shades of rose and rich furnishings and additional plush seating space with modern finishes. The guest suite bathroom is an all-marble haven complete with a large soaking tub, Toto toilet, and steam shower.

"The goal of the design in the Presidential Suite is to incorporate more contemporary living aspects and ideas into a timeless and classic space that will not feel dated in 10, 15, or even 20 years," says  Vesta Fort, Vesta Fort Interiors. "As an international tastemaker with influences from all over the world, Windsor Court has pulled much inspiration from its home in New Orleans. The brands and patterns are highly regarded and coveted, selected to fit the gracious, luxury ambiance of the  Presidential Suite. With special pieces from various designers, the focal points of each room in the Suite adjust depending on the goal of the respective space."

The Windsor Court is built on the premise of delivering revered service within a refined space. Greeted by a classic, cloistered courtyard, guests enjoy celebrated, grand guest rooms, suites, and an exclusive club-level offering. Equally important as its polished accommodations are the culinary endeavors. Touting fine dining fare, afternoon tea, and weekend brunch, Windsor Court also presents an iconic cocktail bar & lounge featuring live jazz. The hotel offers a best-in-class spa with wellness offerings and a discerning curation of retail, a noteworthy art collection, and a rooftop pool with an open-air bar.
