Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® once again took center stage, illuminating the night sky with an awe-inspiring display of pyrotechnics that marked the nation's biggest celebration of Independence Day. With a barrage of dazzling shells and effects, Macy's captivated spectators live in New York City and millions watching on national television.

Macys: A Dazzling Display of Shells and Effects:

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® featured a mesmerizing showcase of more than 60,000 shells and effects launched from five barges along the East River. Spectators from three boroughs in New York City enjoyed prime viewing as the night sky came alive with a symphony of colors and shapes. With shells and effects in 30 different hues, this year's display pushed the boundaries of creativity. New additions included a mile-wide waving flag created with red, white, and blue palm and strobing shells, a sunflower ring with crackling pistil shells, Statue of Liberty, red stop sign-shaped effects, and the innovative Ghost pyro that transitioned between four different colors. The design launched over 2,400 shells and effects per minute, leaving spectators in awe.

A Captivating Prelude:

The Live Drone Show: This year, Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® surprised spectators with a groundbreaking addition to the celebration. In collaboration with the City of New York, Macy's featured the first-ever live drone show in NYC, captivating millions of Americans. Before the fireworks display, 500 drone lights took to the sky, extending the musical performance stage and creating awe-inspiring shapes above the East River. This stunning prelude set the stage for the grandeur that followed, marking a new milestone in the history of Macy's 4th of July Fireworks®.

Musical Performances and Spectacular Pyrotechnics:

The two-hour Macy's 4th of July Fireworks NBC special was a treat for music lovers, featuring sensational performances by Ashanti, Bebe Rexha, Ja Rule, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, LL COOL J featuring DJ Z-Trip & The Roots, and many more. As the night sky darkened, Macy's signature pyrotechnic salute to America took center stage. Produced by renowned musical director Ray Chew, the 25-minute score combined American classics and new works from various genres, including Motown, country, and hip-hop. The U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus, along with talented artists such as Brett Young, Amanda Shaw, Jazmine Sullivan, and the Harlem School of the Arts Dorothy Maynor Singers, added an extra layer of brilliance to the performances. Each act was accompanied by a breathtaking backdrop of pyrotechnics, creating a mesmerizing fusion of music and visual splendor.

The Macy's Golden Mile: A Stunning Finale:

The Macy's Fireworks reached its crescendo with the awe-inspiring Macy's Golden Mile, paying tribute to the legendary Tina Turner. Thousands of golden-hued shells created a breathtaking cascade effect stretching for more than a mile across the East River. This signature moment was a fitting finale to a night filled with excitement, joy, and celebration.
