Sebastian Masuda, a visionary multi-disciplinary artist born in Tokyo, has been creating outlandish artworks and designs since 1995. His unique aesthetic, characterized by bold patterns, vibrant colors, and playful concepts, has crossed over various platforms, from art and culture to fashion, hospitality, and entertainment. Masuda’s influence and his iconic store, 6%DokiDoki, played a significant role in shaping the modern image of Tokyo street fashion. He has also conceptualized and art-directed music videos for Japanese pop sensation Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and designed Harajuku’s Kawaii Monster Café in 2015. Masuda’s mission is to spread Japan’s Kawaii culture to the world, celebrating the emotional depth behind the concept of “cuteness.”

On Wednesday, June 27, 2023, Sebastian Masuda unveiled SUSHIDELIC, his very first restaurant in the United States, with a private opening party in NYC. The event was attended by notable personalities from various industries, including nail superstar Mei Kawajiri, art world’s David Mugrabi, socialites Lady Liliana & William Cavendish, and many more. The gathering represented a cross-section of Masuda’s dedicated followers, including Delic Girls, artists, and models, all embracing the kawaii movement.

The SUSHIDELIC Experience:
SUSHIDELIC is not your average sushi restaurant. It offers an immersive kawaii experience that combines Sebastian Masuda’s artistic vision with the flavors of Japan. Masuda’s collaboration with Japanese and New York-based chefs brings forth a menu featuring a variety of sushi dishes, Japanese cuisine favorites, and vegetarian options. The restaurant’s design, conceptualized by Masuda and brought to life by Japanese architect Aki Miyazono of Blank Designs, immerses guests in an interactive whimsical and playful atmosphere. With a conveyor belt system and approximately 50 to 60 seats, including outdoor seating, SUSHIDELIC offers a delightful and visually stimulating dining experience.
