Designed by New York–based firm Champalimaud, The Bungalow honors the architectural heritage of Halekulani’s original early 20th-century bungalows while reimagining the space through a contemporary lens. The influence of the Arts and Crafts movement is evident throughout: from hand-blown glass sconces to custom trellis woodwork adorned with Thunbergia fragrans, every detail is curated with care.

Situated with direct access to the hotel’s iconic Orchid pool, The Bungalow features its own private patio and cabana—ideal for those who seek privacy without sacrificing proximity. Inside, the suite’s lavish bedroom opens onto a serene bathroom fitted with a sculptural soaking tub, while a rotating private art collection showcases ceramic works by Christopher Edwards, adding a distinctively local touch.

The Penthouse, in contrast, takes a cue from mid-century Hawaiian design, blending warmth and polish across a series of thoughtfully appointed spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic views of the Pacific, while vintage pieces sourced from Hound & Quail, Honolulu’s beloved antique shop, bring a sense of authenticity to the interiors.

There’s a tiki bar stocked and staffed with a personal mixologist, a retro record player with a curated vinyl collection, and an outdoor entertainment area designed for hosting up to 12 guests. It’s indulgent, yes—but never ostentatious.

What Sets Halekulani’s Premier Suites Apart

The Bungalow and The Penthouse join an already illustrious lineup that includes the Royal Suite, Orchid Suite, and Halekulani Suite, the latter designed by Vera Wang. Together, they form a portfolio that prioritizes aesthetics, privacy, and personalization.
