Tahiti Village Invests $30+ Million in Room Redesign for a More Functional and Stylish Las Vegas Stay

August 14th, 2024 — Tahiti Village Resort and Spa, a family-friendly favorite in Las Vegas, is undergoing a $30+ million renovation project designed to enhance the way owners and guests experience their stay. The transformation, set for completion by the end of 2025, focuses on creating versatile, functional suites that cater to multi-generational families while preserving the resort’s signature tropical character.

The project began with an unconventional design process: one suite was stripped down and refurnished with plywood prototypes to test multiple layouts and configurations. This hands-on experimentation allowed the team to fine-tune room flow, maximize space, and ensure each feature served both form and function.

Chris Breed, Vice President of Operations, described the guiding vision:

The updated interiors balance modern design with the resort’s island-inspired DNA. New furniture offers both comfort and durability, including larger couches that accommodate more seating than traditional hotel arrangements. The design embraces open layouts that encourage conversation and togetherness, replacing rigid seating plans with flexible “pockets” of space ideal for gathering.

In line with the goal of improving usability, the redesign eliminates unnecessary clutter. Bulky floor lamps and side tables have been replaced with built-in features for drinks and devices, making rooms feel more streamlined without sacrificing convenience.

The renovation process also considered the operational side of hospitality. By collaborating with housekeeping teams, the resort introduced furniture that is easier to move and maintain, improving workflow while maintaining high design standards. “Heavy items were replaced with more manageable pieces that improve both guest comfort and staff efficiency,” Breed noted.

Additional upgrades include enhanced lighting, custom drapery and tapestries, fine Tahitian art, and the use of durable materials that maintain their appeal over time.

Once the suite renovations are complete, Tahiti Village will shift focus to the resort’s shared spaces, including the lobby and hallways, ensuring the refreshed aesthetic and improved functionality extend throughout the property.
