Richard Kirshenbaum's debut novel, Rouge, was celebrated this week at an official launch party hosted by Marc Glimcher (Pace) and Fairfax Dorn (Marfa Ballroom) on Wednesday, June 5th from 6-8pm at the Pace Gallery.

It was a glam celebration to matched the novel with some of New York's biggest names in attendance. Hors d'oeuvres were passed on lucite trays filled with cosmetics while guests celebrated the book, which hits shelves June 25th.

It was recently announced that Sony Pictures has acquired the film rights to the book, which tells a fictionalized version of the real-life rivalry between Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubenstein in a glam, dramatic novel about the rise of the beauty business in 1920's NYC. Wendy Finerman (Devil Wears Prada, Forrest Gump) will produce the movie.  In remarks the crowd, Kirshenbaum recalled being part of the first generation of men to work under powerful female leadership, naming several of his clients during his start as an Adman. The story is a powerful tale of the entrepreneurs that pioneered the beauty business and became the first female millionaires in America.
