Miami Beach marked a major cultural milestone with the U.S. debut of Michelangelo: Art and Legacy, a dynamic new exhibition showcasing full-scale, interactive reproductions of the artist’s most iconic works, including The David and The Sistine Chapel.
The evening commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting led by Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, alongside Commissioner Alex Fernandez, Commissioner Laura Dominguez, GMCVB President and CEO David Whitaker, and curators Josephine Bodogh and Johanna Guttmann of Premier Exhibitions Group, LLC.
Distinguished guests such as Representative Fabián Basabe, Miami Beach Chamber President Brittnie Bassant, Commissioner Joe Magazine, and artist Anthony James joined the celebration, lending their support to this landmark artistic moment.
Held at 1212 Lincoln Road, the private opening transformed the exhibition space into a confluence of history and hospitality, where the grandeur of Renaissance art met Miami’s contemporary cultural scene.
Attendees experienced Michelangelo’s masterpieces in an immersive format designed to transport visitors beyond traditional museum viewing, allowing for a more intimate encounter with the scale, detail, and emotion behind each work.
A curated selection of premium refreshments elevated the evening’s ambiance, with signature offerings from Helix7 Vodka, Askur Gin, Icelandic Glacial, Don Londres, and Magic 13 setting the tone for a refined reception.
The exhibition’s thoughtful design bridges past and present, inviting guests to explore Michelangelo’s influence not just as a master of form and technique, but as a lasting symbol of artistic legacy.
Now open to the public, Michelangelo: Art and Legacy offers Miami residents and visitors a rare opportunity to engage with one of art history’s most enduring figures — through a lens that feels as timeless as the work itself.
