Artexpo New York 2025 Recap: Global Talent, Strong Sales, and a Creative Surge at Pier 36
April 15th, 2025 – As art lovers and collectors gathered at Pier 36 in Manhattan this April, Artexpo New York 2025 reaffirmed its legacy as one of the world’s leading fine art fairs—while simultaneously carving out new space for boundary-pushing expression. Now in its 48th year, the annual event welcomed thousands of industry insiders, curators, and art enthusiasts from around the world to explore bold new perspectives and time-honored masterpieces under one expansive roof.
Running from April 3–6, the fair transformed 70,000 square feet of uninterrupted exhibition space into a global marketplace of ideas, with more than 200 exhibitors and over 1,000 artists representing 27 countries. This year’s fair was marked by two major additions: the inaugural Redwood Art Prize Contest and the debut of the Artexpo New York Digital Photo Contest, both underscoring the fair’s evolving role in shaping how—and where—art gets seen.
A Marketplace of Innovation and Inclusion
From large-scale installations to intimate hand-drawn works, Artexpo New York 2025 balanced tradition with experimentation. The return of signature programs such as [SOLO], the Spotlight Program, and Art Labs continued to highlight a diverse blend of established and independent voices. Guests moved fluidly through booths showcasing glassworks, ceramics, photography, lithographs, sculpture, and mixed media, while engaging with live demonstrations and “Meet the Artist” sessions that broke down the often-intimidating distance between creator and collector.
This year’s Spotlight Program featured a dynamic mix of artists pushing boundaries within their disciplines, including Bill Hao, Haydn Lewis, Neelam Padte, Ariel Rodriguez, Pamela Galleguillos, and Mriya Gallery. On the Mezzanine level, Jason Perez Art Collective took center stage, merging street energy with studio discipline.
Celebrating a major milestone, Samir Sammoun marked his 30th year exhibiting at the fair. The Canadian-Lebanese artist’s impressionist works were once again among the most sought-after, with highlights such as La Danse en Bleu, Wild Beauty, and Autumne au Park Rhone commanding notable sales alongside pieces by guest artist Yaryna Yuryk.
New Contests, New Conversations
The launch of the Redwood Art Prize Contest introduced a new level of prestige to Artexpo’s programming. With over $20,000 in prizes, this juried competition recognized works that embodied the theme “Boundless.” This year’s winners—Bret Neathery, Gavin Hein, Linda Washburn Roberts, and Rhea Diehl—were spotlighted throughout the fair and gained global exposure via Redwood Art Group’s platforms.
The Digital Photo Contest, themed “Blink,” challenged photographers to capture the essence of spontaneous beauty. With $30,000 in awards and live voting stations placed throughout the venue, the contest bridged analog interaction with digital engagement.
Collector Favorites and Market Impact
Sales and commissions were robust across the board, with returning favorites and rising stars finding new homes in private and public collections.
Highlights included:
Artavita – World Wide Art, placing pieces by Sally Ruddy, Michael Ian Goulding, Johanne Kourle, and others.
Renssen Art Gallery, celebrating another successful year with sales of Erik Renssen’s originals and several Picasso prints.
Chadwick Arcinue’s nine-piece Springscapes series, which was met with enthusiastic response and multiple commissions.
ArtNWordz, placing over 60 pieces and reinforcing their place as a collector favorite.
Montana’s Ariel Rodriguez, whose scratchboard technique drew notable attention and repeat sales.
Additional strong performances were reported by Perseus Gallery, K-Art Projects USA, Michael Storrings, and many others.

Artexpo New York concluded with the announcement of the 2025 Artexpo Awards, honoring standout artists and galleries across multiple categories.
