Jonah Bokaer & Chez Bushwick Holiday Party

Jonah Bokaer & Chez Bushwick Holiday Party

On Wednesday, December 16th, over one hundred guests attended the Jonah Bokaer and Chez Bushwick Holiday Party hosted at Site 109. Beginning with a dynamic and friendly cocktail party, choreographer Jonah Bokaer presented a site-specific and one night only solo. The performance took place among an art installation by artist Rachel Libeskind, which was installed for the occasion.

The highlight of the event was the toast in the honor of Jonah Bokaer, who was rewarded three times this year. In 2015, Jonah Bokaer was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, a United States Artists Fellowship, as well as a National Endowment for the Arts grant.

He dedicates these awards to his collaborators: the performing artists, technical professionals, designers, curators, and producers who have made his work possible since 2002. In the coming years, Bokaer will continue to develop the relationship between choreography and visual art, with a strong focus on museum works, and international exchange.

Jonah Bokaer also announced a few of his 2016 productions, including Rules of the Game, a collaborative project with Daniel Arsham and Pharrell Williams which will premiere on May 17, 2016 in Dallas, as part of the SOLUNA International Music & Arts Festival, and will continue touring worldwide through 2018.

The sold out event aimed to fundraise for the organization, which directly benefits the artists and programs of Chez Bushwick INC.
