Solving Kids' Cancer (SKC) showcased its signature style and elegance during the highly anticipated annual Spring Celebration benefit Gala, held in the heart of New York City on May 17th, 2023. The star-studded event aimed to pay tribute to two cherished supporters who have lent their unwavering commitment to the organization over the years: the illustrious Carolina Herrera and the visionary Donna Karan.

Renowned as fashion icons, Herrera and Karan have been dedicated advocates of SKC since the organization's inaugural New York City benefit back in 2010. Their influential voices have significantly raised the public profile of Solving Kids' Cancer, shedding light on its noble cause.

Expressing her heartfelt sentiments, Herrera humbly declared, "Solving Kids' Cancer is my favorite organization. They care for the children in an extraordinary manner. And most importantly, they restore their smiles. Thank you for this unforgettable evening." After receiving her award, she graciously invited the children to join her on stage, symbolizing the unity and joy that Solving Kids' Cancer brings to these young fighters.

In addition to the fashion luminaries, Dr. Joshua Schiffman, the esteemed Co-Founder and CEO of PEEL Therapeutics, was also honored for his exceptional contributions to advancing new treatments for children battling cancer. Dr. Schiffman's groundbreaking work has propelled the fight against pediatric cancers to new heights.

Now celebrating its 15th year, SKC attracts leaders from diverse industries such as finance, media, entertainment, sports, and fashion, all united in their commitment to fundraising for cutting-edge treatments for the most devastating pediatric cancers.

SKC's impact extends far beyond New York City, as the organization boasts global collaborations with like-minded nonprofits and pediatric cancer research institutions. This year, thanks to a funded clinical trial by SKC, their groundbreaking work will be integrated into the efforts of more than 250 cancer centers across 24 countries. Such remarkable progress would not have been possible without the steadfast support of influential figures who recognize the urgency of the cause.

Scott Kennedy, the co-founder and executive director of SKC, expressed his gratitude for the involvement of these prominent individuals, stating, "Every nonprofit aspires to be associated with recognizable names, individuals who lend their voice to the organization's mission and work. Having both of these fashion industry icons, who not only support but genuinely believe in our cause, is immeasurable in its impact. Their presence has propelled us to become a global force in the landscape of pediatric cancer research. We are profoundly grateful to both of them."

The Mandarin Oriental New York served as the exquisite venue for the Spring Celebration Gala. The evening commenced with a glamorous cocktail hour, followed by an exquisite seated dinner. The 200 esteemed guests in attendance were treated to delightful commentary from SNL Producer Seth Herzog, captivating musical performances by Corey Glover and Mike Ciro, and an inspiring Gold Star Award Presentation honoring the courageous children who have valiantly battled cancer. The night drew to a close with a lively silent auction, allowing attendees to mingle, dance, and revel in the spirit of giving.

The SKC Spring Celebration Gala proved to be a resounding success, not only as an unforgettable social affair but also as a vital fundraiser that empowers Solving Kids' Cancer to continue its groundbreaking work. With style, compassion, and unwavering dedication, SKC is transforming the lives of children and families affected by pediatric cancer, ensuring a brighter and healthier future for all.
