This Cinco de Mayo, the spirit of celebration spills into the streets—and the taquerias—across South Florida, as COYO Taco kicks off its 10th annual fiesta with a weekend-long tribute to flavor, music, and Mexican heritage. Known for its edgy energy and beloved street-style cuisine, the Miami-born brand will celebrate across all its locations, infusing each outpost with live entertainment, cocktail specials, and the kind of culinary offerings that turn a simple meal into a cultural moment.
Running from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5, the event marks a decade of COYO’s signature Cinco de Mayo parties, including the high-octane anniversary bash hosted in their Wynwood parking lot during Miami Music Week, which featured sets from Diplo, Ape Drums, and Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. This time, each location has its own flavor of festivity—but the core promise remains the same: street tacos, strong drinks, and a crowd that knows how to celebrate.
At every COYO Taco, guests will find the same $5 margarita deal that’s become a signature of the brand’s celebrations, as well as entertainment throughout the day on May 5—from midday mariachi performances to DJs spinning deep into the night.
The flagship location, and arguably the epicenter of the weekend, will host mariachi at 8:30 PM, with the energy peaking during the famed Murk Monday set from Miami house icon Oscar G, whose Latin-influenced beats keep the party alive until 2 AM. Located at 2320 NW 2nd Ave, this is COYO’s most anticipated location for those who prefer their tacos with a side of nightlife.
In the heart of the financial district, Brickell’s COYO offers a midday mariachi session at 12:30 PM, transitioning into an evening of strawberry and mezcal margaritas and classic street-style fare. For city dwellers looking to escape the skyscrapers, it’s a flavorful reset. Located at 1111 SW 1st Ave, open until midnight.
Geared toward families, students, and locals, the South Dixie Highway location (1514 S Dixie Hwy) will serve up $5 and $6 margaritas, tequila shots, and beer specials, with DJ David California spinning from 4–9 PM. Mariachis arrive at 7 PM to round out the day’s festivities.
On the ever-charming Giralda Plaza, Coral Gables guests can enjoy traditional mariachis during a lunchtime interlude and tequila flights in the lounge starting at 4 PM. Located at 126 Giralda Ave, this spot offers a relaxed yet celebratory setting perfect for afternoon revelers.
Fort Lauderdale’s location ups the ante with half-priced mezcal and tequila cocktails from 4–7 PM, and $5 margaritas offered all day. A mariachi performance at 12:30 PM sets a festive tone early in the day, while happy hour continues with select bar bites under $5.
Across all locations, COYO’s menu remains a standout. The beloved Birria Tacos, simmered in guajillo and ancho chiles and served with broth for dipping, continue to draw fans, while the Carne Asada Tacos and Cochinita Pibil are must-orders for those craving authentic Yucatán-style preparations. Burrito bowls, cheesy quesadillas, and the signature hand-mashed guacamole ($11) round out the savory offerings, while Churros with dulce de leche ($11) make for a fitting finale.
This is not just a party—it’s a culinary movement that embraces COYO Taco’s ethos: authenticity, community, and celebration. Whether you’re sipping a strawberry margarita under the sun or dancing in a Wynwood speakeasy at midnight, Cinco de Mayo with COYO isn’t just observed—it’s lived.
