NYLON Previews Their Invite-Only Membership With Star-Studded Takeover at The Surf Lodge
The Hamptons pulsed with new energy this Fourth of July weekend as NYLON launched its highly-selective Membership with a five-day, all-out residency at The Surf Lodge — and it might end up being the best weekend of the Montauk Summer.
The scene kicked off Wednesday, July 2, with the return of Ben Watts’ legendary Shark Attack Sounds and a set by Loud Luxury that had the docks vibrating into the night. But that was just the beginning.
By the time SOFI TUKKER rolled into Montauk to headline Thursday night, the place was at capacity — and then some. That’s also when Emma Roberts made her entrance, drawing a mini-mob as she ran into the duo at the door. According to one guest, the three shared a quick embrace with Surf Lodge owner Jayma Cardoso, posed for a photo, and “had everyone pushing and shoving just to get a better look.”
Bethenny Frankel was spotted that same night dancing with her daughter and “a tight-knit crew” while chatting for an extended time with BDG CEO Bryan Goldberg, who oversees NYLON. “Bethenny was glowing,” said one insider. “She looked like she was exactly where she wanted to be — off-duty and in full summer mode.”
Friday brought French DJ Hugel. Saturday brought Swiss duo Adriatique and chaos — in the best way — when Livvy Dunne showed up with a group of girlfriends and dove straight into the NYLON section. “She was dancing all night,” said one attendee. “It was like she left the real world behind. No boyfriend. Just girl time.”
The five-night event also included a Sunday night finale featuring St. Lucia, with an opening set by Julianne Moore’s son, Caleb Freundlich.
A-listers floated in and out, including Meadow Walker, Joshua Jackson, Tessa Brooks, Remi Bader, Hannah Godwin & Dylan Barbour, Amelie Zilber, Kit Keenan, Xandra Pohl, Kelly Bensimon, Dale Moss, Chase Winovich, and Ronnie Flynn – to name a few.
Brand activations brought extra sparkle to the seaside scene: ASOS dropped a curated summer collection and exclusive collab sweatshirt, Nautica Fragrance cooled things off with scent-inspired gelato, Sally Hansen installed a glowing photo booth and DJ booth takeover, and Vera Wang Fragrance created a luxe beachside photo moment straight out of a dream sequence.
Lauren McCarthy, NYLON’s Editor-in-Chief, called the event “a statement — not just a party,” adding: “It was everything NYLON stands for: bold, boundary-pushing, and culture-defining.” And the best part? This was just the start. A friend of the brand told us the next major Members-only moment is already being plotted for New York Fashion Week — and trust us, the door won’t be easy.
As one guest put it: “This was one of those weekends where you knew, in the moment, you were part of something bigger.”
NYLON Membership officially launches later this year. But if this weekend is any indication, the bar has already been set sky-high.
