For generations, Eloise has delighted readers and dreamers with her mischievous charm and life lived “at The Plaza, of course.” This summer, in celebration of her 70th anniversary, the Eloise boutique welcomed families for a magical afternoon that blended nostalgia, imagination, and New York sophistication—all in signature pink.
Inside The Plaza’s gilded halls, young guests were invited into Eloise’s world through a series of thoughtfully curated experiences. The boutique came to life with the laughter of children sipping pink lemonade, nibbling sweet treats, and crafting memories that would make even Nanny proud.
A boutique scavenger hunt sent children exploring the Eloise shop, searching among the storybook shelves and merchandise displays. At each stop, they received an Eloise sticker, including charming finds at Miki and The Wool Store. The final reward? A custom Eloise sugar cookie by Eleni’s, hand-iced to perfection and paired with edible markers—too pretty to eat, but too delicious not to. Children delighted in decorating their own Eloise cookie, adding color and creativity with edible markers for a playful and personal touch to the celebration.
Guests were also treated to a delicious “tasting tour” of sweets and savories, carefully curated for all ages. One standout stop? Rino’s Confections – a heartfelt nod to legacy and love, dreamed up by Miyuki in honor of her late father and inspired by their original family business, Rino’s Amusement. Presented in chic, giftable packaging, the offerings were as elevated as they were whimsical:
Sugarfina Champagne Gummies
Imported Dubai Chocolate Truffles
Virginia Diner Gourmet Nuts
The Big Fat Cookie – oversized, over-the-top, and unforgettable
The 70th anniversary event was also a celebration of women-led vision. Co-led by Rachel Riley, the beloved British brand behind Eloise’s most iconic wardrobe, and Kate Karcher Clark, founder and CEO of YOTTOY, the event brought together two creative forces at the helm of the festivities. Known for its timeless children’s silhouettes, hand-smocked dresses, and regal elegance, Rachel Riley outfitted the celebration in playful refinement, staying true to Eloise’s effortlessly stylish legacy.
Clark’s company, renowned for its beautifully crafted plush toys and literary characters, helped bring Eloise to life in the hands of new generations, adding a layer of whimsy and storytelling to the day.
At Rino’s Confections, Miyuki carried on her family’s spirit of wonder through gourmet delights that honored her father’s memory and enchanted a new generation.
Together, these founders brought heart, heritage, and handcrafted details to a day that honored more than just a fictional girl—it celebrated the enduring power of women to shape childhood joy with elegance and imagination.
