New York Swim Week 2025 Makes Waves With Five-Year Milestone and a Global Vision for Fashion’s Most Daring Category
Swimwear has never been more serious. And New York Swim Week 2025, now in its fifth year, arrives ready to prove that the category long confined to beachwear racks belongs squarely on the runway. On July 26, the industry’s most progressive swim showcase returns to Manhattan with the force of a full fashion movement—marking a half-decade of style, storytelling, and global expansion under the visionary direction of founder Evita Scoccia.
Titled “Interbloom,” this year’s theme is as symbolic as it is seasonal. The concept speaks to growth, self-reinvention, and radiant individuality—principles that have shaped NYSW since its launch in 2021. The main runway event will be staged at Life Time Sky (605 W 42nd St) with two dynamic shows: a 2:00 PM daytime presentation hosted by @andreiagibau and @iampetergordon, followed by a 5:00 PM evening show hosted by @lachy_mclean. The celebrations continue with an exclusive after party at Virgin Hotel NYC—a fittingly elevated end to a day where style and substance converge.
A Movement in Motion
New York Swim Week didn’t happen by accident. It was built from backstage grit. Scoccia, a former model, stylist, and Vogue intern, envisioned a platform that gave swimwear the editorial and runway gravitas it had long been denied.
“I’ve walked the runways, packed the samples, and sat backstage dreaming of something more. NYSW is that ‘more’... not just for me, but for everyone who deserves a space to be seen.”
Evita Scoccia, Founder of New York Swim Week
Now, that space has become an ecosystem. NYSW 2025 isn’t confined to a single runway—it’s a weeklong celebration of swimwear culture, activating the city through immersive, fashion-forward moments:
July 12 – NYSW Boat Show (2430 FDR Drive Service Rd E)
July 23 – Kickoff Event & Pop-Up Shop (Bowery, NYC)
July 24 – BLOOM: Immersive Fashion Garden (SoHo, NYC)
July 26 – Runway Shows & After Party (Life Time Sky & Virgin Hotel NYC)
Design-Forward, Diverse, and Defining What’s Next
At the core of the “Interbloom” edition is a designer lineup that reads like a curated snapshot of where swimwear is headed—architectural cuts, heritage influences, sustainable innovation, and unapologetic sensuality.
Among the featured labels:
Bathhouse, Birds and B, By Sarasty, Cocora Shop, Designs by Porshia, Ella Marie Swim, Elizabeth & Co., EVITA SWIM, Haus of Blck, Heritage Swim, Ivy Swimwear, Marteen Luxury, MLC Swimwear, Oceanus, Origin of Oceans, PAM SWIM, Palondre the Label, SAINT LOU$I™, SHE Designs, Sulis Swimwear, Wall Street Swim, and yarnS.
Each brings a unique perspective, from minimalist luxury to culturally rich motifs. It's not just a showcase—it’s a forecast.
Beauty, Branding, and the Future of Swim Fashion
As with any fashion week worth its name, backstage and branding play critical roles in shaping the visual language. NYSW’s partners this season represent some of the most innovative names in beauty and production:
Saltie Beauty delivers clean, ocean-inspired hair care that balances sustainability with sensuality.
The Makeup Academy (Nina Mua) leads all glam with a globally trained artistry team.
Plug Social Agency (led by Passhun Mylashia) handles creative direction, influencer casting, and brand activations across more than 250 productions—anchoring NYSW as both a fashion platform and a media powerhouse.
Setting a New Standard in Swimwear Storytelling
In 2024, NYSW broke new ground with a first-of-its-kind international pre-show campaign in the Maldives, merging resort content with retail and designer storytelling. It’s this type of cinematic, border-breaking vision that sets NYSW apart—not only as a runway event, but as a content incubator for fashion houses looking to turn niche collections into global campaigns.
That same energy drives this summer’s edition. As Scoccia puts it, NYSW isn’t just a show—it’s a reset. A reframing of who creates swimwear, who wears it, and what it can say.
Why It Matters Now
Swimwear is having its fashion moment. With its fifth anniversary, New York Swim Week 2025 reclaims the category as one of high fashion’s most agile forms—capable of carrying cultural meaning, editorial sharpness, and business relevance all at once. It invites buyers, editors, and the public to look closer: at craftsmanship, at the body, at the future of seasonal style.
What began in 2021 as a vision for representation has grown into a multi-day, multi-platform fashion week with global relevance. And in its fifth year, NYSW proves that what was once a niche is now a necessary chapter in the fashion calendar.
