Art on the Plate: The Joyce and The Window at The Joyce Redefine Miami Beach Dining

A Sophisticated Fusion of Culinary Art and Fine Design Arrives on Española Way

This January, Miami Beach welcomes a culinary revolution on the historic Española Way. Spicy Hospitality Group, co-founded by art collector Andre Sakhai, entrepreneur Marc Lotenberg, and Michelin-trained Chef James Taylor, introduces two dynamic dining concepts: The Joyce and The Window at The Joyce. These dual ventures promise to elevate Miami’s dining scene with their fusion of fine art, meticulous culinary craftsmanship, and an air of approachable luxury.

The Window at The Joyce: Classic American Comforts Reimagined

Opened in December, The Window at The Joyce combines nostalgia with elevated street fare. Aiming to perfect the quintessential burger, Chef James Taylor spent over two years honing his recipe. The result? Juicy patties seared on a hot griddle with molten cheese that seamlessly melds into a rich sauce—a flavor explosion in every bite.

The menu extends to other comfort classics, including fried fish sandwiches, chopped salads, chicken sandwiches, wings, and milkshakes, making The Window a go-to spot for casual indulgence. Its outdoor patio offers an intimate, alfresco setting that complements the laid-back Miami vibe. Operating daily from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM, The Window at The Joyce invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy elevated street fare at its finest.

Set to debut on January 10, The Joyce is poised to be a modern restaurant and speakeasy hybrid. Chef Taylor’s meticulous approach, honed in Michelin-starred kitchens such as Alinea and Roister, shines through in a menu that masterfully blends bold flavors and refined techniques. Highlights include:

  • Caviar & Latkes

  • Two-Way Chicken

  • Local Snapper Fillet Sandwich

  • King Crab Scampi

  • A curated selection of internationally sourced steaks

The Joyce also incorporates elevated design elements, from Gio Ponti’s iconic dining chairs to Joe Colombo’s sleek bar stools. Guests enter through a hidden doorway veiled by dark green drapery and custom walnut millwork, stepping into an intimate 45-seat dining room where curated art pieces—including works by Picasso and Basquiat—add to the ambiance.

Complementing the menu is an inventive cocktail program crafted by a Japanese master mixologist and a wine list curated by a sommelier with a pedigree in Miami’s elite dining scene. The Joyce operates Tuesday through Sunday, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

For Andre Sakhai, the creative force behind Spicy Hospitality Group, The Joyce represents more than just a restaurant. It’s a cultural experience where art, design, and cuisine converge. A trustee of Miami’s Institute of Contemporary Art, Sakhai envisions The Joyce as a haven for those seeking refined yet accessible luxury.

“With The Joyce and The Window at The Joyce, we’re bringing Miami Beach something rare: food of exceptional quality, crafted with high-caliber ingredients and meticulous technique, all at a price point that’s accessible."
