La Grande Boucherie Brings Parisian Elegance to Miami’s South of Fifth
Miami’s South of Fifth neighborhood just got a taste of Parisian grandeur with the arrival of La Grande Boucherie, the latest venture from The Group Hospitality. Known for its grand Art Nouveau-inspired spaces and timeless brasserie charm, La Grande Boucherie made a dazzling debut with an opulent opening soirée that transported guests to the golden age of Paris.
A Spectacular Opening Inspired by the Oasis Parties
On January 30th, Miami’s elite gathered at 81 Washington Avenue to celebrate the highly anticipated launch of La Grande Boucherie. Stepping through bougainvillea-lined gates, guests entered a lush tropical garden reminiscent of Paul Poiret’s legendary 1920s Oasis Parties, where the night was set against a backdrop of live music by Liset Alea. The evening unfolded inside a stunning historic Art Deco building, originally designed in 1938 by architect Henry Hohauser, now meticulously reimagined to blend French sophistication with Miami’s vibrant energy.
Inside, the restaurant’s ground-floor brasserie welcomed guests with subway-tiled walls, intricate mosaics, and antique French accents, while the upstairs dining area channeled the seductive allure of Denise Boulet’s soirées, enveloping visitors in rich jewel-toned hues and intimate private dining spaces overlooking the verdant courtyard.
A Culinary Journey Through French Indulgence
With Executive Chef Leonardo Pablo at the helm—renowned for his work with Jean-Georges and top Miami dining establishments—La Grande Boucherie curated an evening of classic and contemporary French flavors such as Escargots, King Crab, steak tartare and French onion soup. The main courses were equally indulgent, boasting Prime Steak Frites, Coq Au Vin, Filet Mignon, Whole Grilled Lobster, and Loup de Mer. The evening concluded with decadent desserts, including a smooth Mousse Au Chocolat, Basque Cheesecake, and Milk Chocolate Caramel Tart.
Pairing perfectly with the menu, La Grande Boucherie’s extensive wine and cocktail selection delighted attendees. Signature drinks like La Vie En Rose, The Phoenix, and the Boucherie Old Fashioned highlighted the evening’s celebration, alongside an expertly curated wine list featuring French vintages and sustainable, organic selections.
A Parisian Dream in Miami
The arrival of La Grande Boucherie in South of Fifth cements The Group Hospitality’s expansion into Miami’s flourishing culinary scene. Founder Emil Stefkov expressed his excitement about the launch, stating:
