Blue Café Opens at Superblue Miami: Where Art, Flavor, and Culture Brew Together
A New Canvas for Coffee Culture in Miami
May 23rd, 2025 – Superblue Miami has always reimagined how we experience art. Now, with the launch of Blue Café, it’s extending that creative ethos beyond the galleries and into the cup. Officially open as of May 2025, Blue Café is more than just a refreshment stop—it’s a design-forward destination that fuses culinary craftsmanship with immersive atmosphere, making it an essential part of the Superblue journey.
Designed by acclaimed London-based artist Yinka Ilori, Blue Café transforms a traditional museum café into a space where color, flavor, and community take center stage. Known for his joyful aesthetic and geometric patterns inspired by his Nigerian heritage, Ilori’s touch turns the café into a living installation—an invitation to linger as long as you like.
A Menu That Matches the Mood
Positioned just outside Superblue Miami at 1101 NW 23rd Street, Blue Café presents an elevated yet approachable menu. Espresso drinks, chai, matcha, and iced teas are joined by fresh-pressed juices for the beverage-inclined, while the food offerings are equally curated. Think flaky empanadas, fresh-baked pastries, hearty bowls, and standout sandwiches like the signature Cuban and turkey options. The Super Açaí bowl adds a dose of wellness to the mix.
Dessert lovers won’t be disappointed either. The café features a rotating selection of treats including fruit tarts, ice cream, alfajores, and affogatos—a crowd favorite pairing gelato with a pour of rich espresso. For those looking to unwind, a handpicked list of beer and wine rounds out the experience.
Each item is prepared with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, aligning with Superblue’s broader mission to offer experiences that are both meaningful and sensorially rich.
Design That Sparks Dialogue
Originally created by Ilori for Superblue Miami in 2021, the café’s architectural containers are instantly recognizable for their playful palette and bold shapes. Inside and out, Blue Café continues that visual language, creating a space that feels like an extension of the artwork itself.
“The goal is to redefine what a museum café can be, creating a space where coffee culture, creativity, and community come together in a way that feels fresh and unexpected.”
Shantelle Rodriguez, Director of Experiential Art Centers at Superblue
This idea—of blending art and everyday life—is at the core of both Superblue and Ilori’s vision. And here, it’s reflected in every corner of the café, from its sculptural seating to the unexpected pops of color that invite visitors to relax, recharge, and engage.
A Natural Extension of Superblue’s Mission
As a leader in experiential art, Superblue champions artists who challenge perception and provoke conversation. Blue Café is a natural extension of that philosophy. By offering a multisensory, design-driven culinary experience, it encourages guests to interact with the space—not just pass through it.
Whether you’re sipping an espresso after a gallery tour, enjoying a sunny lunch on the patio, or stopping by for a glass of wine with a friend, Blue Café offers a flexible and dynamic environment for cultural exchange.
And with daily operating hours that mirror Superblue’s schedule—open seven days a week—it’s poised to become a staple for locals and visitors alike.
