Drai’s Brings Its Signature Glamour to Manhattan

Long associated with A-lister residencies and champagne-fueled nights on the Las Vegas Strip, the Drai’s name has entered a new chapter—this time, with a distinctly New York sensibility. Officially opening on June 11, 2025, Drai’s Supper Club marks the iconic hospitality group’s first East Coast concept, delivering refined French-American cuisine and nightly live performances inside a chic, throwback venue at 244 W 14th Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.

Under the direction of President Dustin Drai, the son of legendary founder Victor Drai, this new Manhattan outpost is both a nod to the brand’s original fine dining roots and a modern reimagining of the classic supper club—offering a full-service experience that merges retro glamour with contemporary flair.

“Bringing Drai's to New York City with this supper club concept is incredibly meaningful for me. It’s an homage to where our brand began, a return to the sophisticated dining experience that laid our foundation.”

The venue occupies nearly 8,000 square feet across two floors in the storied space once home to nightlife institutions Nell’s and The Darby. Designed by Dustin and Victor Drai in collaboration with Leo A Daly and Imperium Design, the space is outfitted with Art Deco touches, floral-accented seating, and a centerpiece stage, where guests can enjoy live jazz, pianists, and full bands five nights a week, Wednesday through Sunday.

The effect is immersive: guests enter a dining room that evokes the elegance of a bygone era, tailored for today’s cosmopolitan crowd. Music isn’t just a background element—it’s integral to the experience, fostering lively interactions and an ambiance that evolves as the night progresses.

At the helm of the kitchen is Executive Chef Yoo Hyun Suk, an alum of Blue Hill and Marlow Events, whose decade-long tenure in New York’s fine dining scene informs a menu that’s approachable, ingredient-driven, and refined.

Chef Suk brings a farm-to-table philosophy to the menu, sourcing directly from a curated network of trusted farms and purveyors. Every dish is prepared à la minute, staying true to a French kitchen's standards for precision and freshness.

Standout starters include:

  • Tuna Crisp: Bluefin tuna from Japan, served on a puff pastry with crème fraîche, red onion, and black truffle oil.

  • Terrine of Foie Gras: Hudson Valley foie gras cured with cognac, accompanied by cooked apricots and toast.

  • Burrata & Tomato Tarte: A warm pastry layered with blistered cherry tomatoes, chilled burrata, and basil pesto.

  • Frogs Legs: Lightly sautéed in garlic and parsley sauce for a classic take on a French delicacy.

  • Bone Marrow: Served simply with red onion jam and grilled baguette.

For mains, the Steak au Poivre—a grass-fed beef tenderloin with a cognac-peppercorn sauce—is a standout, while Mashed Potatoes, a seemingly simple side, are elevated to a signature item thanks to a year-long search for the perfect potato. Seafood dishes including Atlantic Halibut, Faro Islands Salmon, and Maine Lobster are responsibly sourced, and the quality shows on the plate.

Desserts with Heritage and Theater

Drai’s doesn’t shy away from indulgence, particularly when it comes to dessert. Victor Drai’s personal favorite, Baba Rum, is soaked in syrup and served with seasonal strawberries, housemade vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream—a nod to his French upbringing. Meanwhile, fresh-baked cookies, served on a golden tower with housemade hot chocolate and meringue, add a whimsical flourish to the table.

A Cocktail Lounge with Personality

The experience doesn’t end with dessert. Guests are invited downstairs to a moody, cheetah-accented lounge that doubles as a high-end cocktail destination. With 18 tables, this post-dinner hideaway offers an ideal setting for late-night drinks or intimate conversation. Signature offerings include classic cocktails with a 1920s spirit, as well as a three-style Espresso Martini flight, underscoring the bar’s commitment to both style and craft.
