When it comes to summertime sipping in Miami, few drinks capture the season quite like a piña colada. And this year, BACARDÍ Rum is putting a fresh twist on the tropical staple with the BACARDÍ Colada Club—a coast-to-coast series that toasts to Caribbean roots, world-class mixology, and summer’s most iconic cocktail.
In Miami, the Colada Club feels right at home. Running through August 31, the initiative invites a handpicked lineup of the city’s top bartenders to reimagine the beloved piña colada, crafting next-level creations using BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho and Santa Teresa 1796. The result? A collection of inventive cocktails that bridge tradition and modern flair, served at some of the city’s most acclaimed venues. From Little Havana to Coral Gables, here’s where to sip these limited-time pours.
At Café La Trova, an award-winning Cuban cocktail bar helmed by Julio Cabrera, the Piña Pela adds a bold edge to the tropical classic. It’s an elevated medley of BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, coffee liqueur, and Angostura bitters—blending island warmth with a punch of roasted depth. Think of it as your piña colada’s more sophisticated cousin.
A Little Havana landmark known for live music and retro flair, Ball & Chain delivers a sweet and sultry take with the Calle Colada. Crafted with BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho, apricot brandy, Coco Lopez, passionfruit purée, and a red sugar rim, it’s as festive as the dance floor—and just as hard to resist.
High above Brickell, Rosa Sky offers skyline views and a cocktail that’s just as captivating. The Coco Spice blends BACARDÍ Reserva Ocho with vanilla ice cream, Thai coconut milk, pineapple, orgeat, and brown sugar for a creamy-yet-balanced indulgence that brings dessert straight to your rooftop happy hour.
Leave it to Faena to turn the piña colada into performance art. Their Meet Me in The Middle cocktail uses Santa Teresa 1796 and arrives with lime air and a toasted pineapple and coconut old fashioned gelatin—a multi-sensory expression that’s as theatrical as it is tasteful.
At Sra. Martinez, a Coral Gables favorite, tropical meets avant-garde. The Sra Island Delight features coconut-washed Santa Teresa Coffee Cask, lychee, coconut water, crème de cacao, mirin, agave tonka, and a splash of lime pineapple. It’s a sweet, savory, and utterly inventive homage to Miami’s eclectic flavor palette.
The BACARDÍ Colada Club is a toast to creativity, community, and craftsmanship. These reimagined piña coladas are available through the end of August, with select locations hosting live events so guests can meet the bartenders behind the creations.
