Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille has always known how to make a statement—usually with a seven-finger-high pork chop or tableside carving of USDA Prime beef. But starting August 5, the celebrated steakhouse is shifting the spotlight to something decidedly more petite. The new Petite Bar Plates menu, launching exclusively at Perry’s Bar 79® and Patio in Oak Brook, Schaumburg, and Vernon Hills, offers a fresh take on the tasting experience—without losing the indulgence.

This new dine-in-only menu brings Perry’s signature flavors into a format designed for modern pacing and personalization. Think: faster, lighter, and share-friendly, with a menu of 16 curated items that run the gamut from soups and entrées to miniature desserts. It’s a shift that reflects how—and when—guests want to dine today: earlier, later, or simply more flexibly.

A Curated Culinary Experience, One Plate at a Time

With the Petite Bar Plates menu, guests build their own journey. A minimum of three selections per person is required, but beyond that, the combinations are limitless. Whether it’s a three-course sampling of entrées or a four-course meal spanning soup, salad, main, and dessert, the format is completely customizable.

Highlights include elevated versions of Perry’s most beloved offerings, served in smaller portions ideal for tasting and sharing. The Pork Chop Carved Sampler, for example, delivers a bite-sized version of the signature dish that made Perry’s famous. Meanwhile, the 3 oz. Petite Filet Perry Stack and Petite Filet Mignon with Lobster show off the brand’s skill with precision grilling and luxe pairings.

For those craving something lighter, the Spaghetti Squash Primavera offers a vegetarian-friendly entrée with seasonal appeal, while the Cedar Plank-Fired Redfish and Petite Salmon Fillet Perry give seafood fans plenty to savor. Add in soups like Lobster Bisque and French Onion, fresh salads like the Baby Wedge Wheel, and indulgent dessert minis like the Chocolate Crunch or Lemon Meringue Square, and the possibilities are both thoughtful and endless.

Designed for the Bar—and the Moment

This isn’t just a new menu; it’s a new way to experience Perry’s. The Petite Bar Plates are exclusive to Bar 79® and the Patio, Perry’s more social, lounge-style settings, and available during all hours of operation. That makes them ideal for everything from a casual after-work bite to a full evening of curated courses. And unlike the main dining room, this menu encourages a more exploratory rhythm—where guests can try something new with each visit or pass plates around with friends.

It’s also designed for diners who want the Perry’s experience without the full steakhouse formality. Whether it’s a spontaneous stop-in or a lighter late-night indulgence, the Petite Bar Plates let guests experience the brand’s culinary depth on their own terms.

A Local Exclusive with National DNA

Though the concept is debuting in the Chicago market, it carries the DNA of the Perry’s brand—rooted in a Houston butcher shop dating back to 1979 and now expanded across key U.S. cities. While Perry’s is known for its steakhouse classics, the brand has continually evolved with the times, and the Petite Bar Plates are a testament to that agility.

Chicago diners at the Oak Brook, Schaumburg, and Vernon Hills locations are the first to experience this new offering. And with the rise of tasting menus, customizable formats, and dine-in-only exclusivity, Perry’s is aligning itself with a more flexible, experiential dining trend—one that values quality and flavor, but doesn’t insist on a three-hour commitment to enjoy them.

The Future of Dining Is Personal

By offering a menu that allows for both simplicity and sophistication, Perry’s taps into something essential: guests don’t just want good food—they want control over how it’s experienced. With the Petite Bar Plates, that might mean pairing a filet tasting with lobster bisque and a single lemon square. Or it might mean creating a full five-course progression with wine pairings and conversation under the stars.

Either way, Perry’s has carved out something distinct for the modern diner: a high-end, high-flavor experience that’s no longer tied to a single way of dining. In a world of tasting flights, tapas, and bar-forward dining, this feels right on time.
