FROM MIAMI TO THE HAMPTONS: Female-Founded Desolas Mezcal Hits the Hamptons

The award-winning mezcal brand will be available at  The Surf Lodge and concepts by the Kissaki Hospitality Group this summer.

Desolas Mezcal is heading to the Hamptons this summer, forming exclusive partnerships with some of the Hamptons' most recognized venues. The female-founded mezcal brand, which was recently named "Best Mezcal of the Year" in the 2023 Bartender Spirits Awards, will be part of the carefully curated cocktail menus at The Surf Lodge and concepts by the Kissaki Hospitality Group. The agave spirit's signature low smoke mezcal flavor profile is perfect for sipping or for creating refreshing cocktails.

Following a successful ski season partnership with The Snow Lodge in Aspen, Desolas Mezcal is now joining forces with its sister property, The Surf Lodge. Desolas previously created activations with The Snow Lodge, providing après-ski cocktails and hosting a popular season-long Mezcal Sundays series. Now Desolas Mezcal is embracing all things summer and will bring its smooth and balanced taste to the iconic Montauk destination. The Surf Lodge will feature exclusive Desolas cocktails specially crafted for summertime from now until the end of the season.

This summer, Desolas will also curate a series of brand activations and intimate events at Kissaki Hospitality Group's contemporary Japanese restaurant Kissaki in Water Mill and its East Hampton Japanese-Italian concept, O by Kissaki. Desolas has been at the helm of creating  innovative experiences that bring together unique elements that stimulate the senses and a diverse crowd of tastemakers. Amongst this summer's go-to events is O by Kissaki's new Disc-O Pitstop Friday series, which will flaunt an array of Desolas cocktails.

Desolas is a female-founded brand that is delicately handcrafted from the Salmiana Agave in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, creating a distinct mezcal and flavor profile with low smoke and botanical and fresh aroma.  The Salmiana Agave is known as the "Green Giant" due to its enormous size and requires careful handling. The Piñas are cooked in above ground ovens known as "hornos" instead of an underground pit, resulting in a mezcal with lower smoke and more agave forward. The premium spirit boasts a smooth and balanced flavor with notes of citrus, black pepper and an elegant finish of vanilla.
