Hermès Takes Flight in Miami with “On the Wings of Hermès”

This spring, the legendary French house of Hermès invites Miami to dream a little differently. Beginning April 18, the maison will present On the Wings of Hermès, an immersive and poetic performance that lands at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Coconut Grove for a limited engagement through April 27.
More than a traditional fashion activation, this multisensory experience blurs the lines between cinema, dance, and theater, all through the prism of Hermès’ ethereal design language. The performance is helmed by Belgian artistic duo Jaco Van Dormael and Michèle Anne De Mey, alongside the Astragales dance company, who have crafted a whimsical journey rooted in mythology—specifically the tale of Pegasus and his seven winged foals.
As Hermès Artistic Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas describes it:
“This work metaphorically illustrates the lightness that is omnipresent at Hermès: in the delicate hands of our craftsmen sewing with two needles at once; in the elegance of materials, and in the subtle notes of a perfume. It is an experience which sparks the imagination, designed by artisans of dreams.”
Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Hermès Artistic Director
Set in a cavernous space resembling a film studio, the production unfolds through seven cinematic sketches—each a visual tableau that pays tribute to craft, storytelling, and surrealism. Expect lyrical choreography, object theater, puppetry, and live filming projected onto a massive screen in real time. One sequence features a charming opera sung by Hermès Kelly bags; another follows a pair of gloves dancing midair, like lovers swept up in the wind. In every scene, delicate Hermès objects are transformed into characters, bringing the spirit of the maison to life through movement and illusion.
The Hangar’s industrial backdrop is a fitting stage for the show’s blend of analog magic and haute craftsmanship. Previously staged in cultural capitals including Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore, On the Wings of Hermès now arrives in Miami, continuing its global tour in style. It’s a rare opportunity for South Florida’s creative community to experience the intersection of luxury fashion and performative art on an international scale—no passport required.
Tickets are complimentary, though advance registration is required at hermes.com/wings. Showtimes are offered daily (excluding April 21) at 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 7:00 PM, with doors opening 30 minutes before each performance.
