A Five-Star Approach to Sleeping Under the Stars

The thrill of the trail doesn’t have to end when the sun sets—especially not on a Backroads itinerary. This week, Backroads, the global leader in active travel, announced two new glamping-focused national park itineraries set to launch in 2026. In partnership with Under Canvas and its luxury brand ULUM Moab, the company introduces its most refined outdoor experiences yet—elevating the traditional camping trip into a hotel-worthy adventure.

“Our new glamping trips let you hike, bike and sleep under the stars—in a real bed, after a hot shower. It's a whole new way to experience the outdoors without giving up some of your favorite creature comforts.”

Tom Hale, Backroads’ Founder, President, and CEO

Introducing ULUM Moab: Desert Luxury Near Arches National Park

Debuting in 2026, the Arches National Park Glamping Multi-Adventure Tour will treat guests to Backroads’ signature blend of hiking, biking, and cultural exploration—all anchored by a stay at ULUM Moab, Under Canvas’s newest luxury outdoor resort. Located just outside Arches National Park, ULUM Moab takes desert immersion to a new level.

Guests will retreat to safari-style Suite Tents, each outfitted with plush beds, modern furnishings, and ensuite bathrooms. Amenities rivaling high-end hotels await: dipping pools, a yoga deck, firepits, and a full-service restaurant offering specialty coffee and smoothies. All this, surrounded by the red rock spires of Utah’s most iconic landscape.

A Yellowstone Adventure for Every Generation

Also launching next year is the Yellowstone Glamping Multi-Adventure Tour, with accommodations at two Under Canvas locationsWest Yellowstone and North Yellowstone—both recognized by Travel + Leisure for their elevated design and proximity to the park’s highlights.

The itinerary is available in two formats: one for Couples, Friends & Solos, and another specifically designed for Families with Kids & Teens. Guests can expect immersive days filled with hiking, biking, and wildlife spotting, followed by evenings relaxing in stylish canvas tents with real beds, wood-burning stoves, and private decks.

A New Frontier for Active Travel
