Riviera Maya is the fourth addition to the All Inclusive Collection of Hard Rock Hotels, The Grand Opening event kicked off on May 4, 2014 with a star-studded Red Carpet, Hard Rock's signature Guitar Smash and a live concert performance by Jon Bon Jovi and his New Jersey side band. Following the show, there was a VIP 'After Party' at the brand new Club Heaven hosted by renowned DJ Connor Cruise (son of Tom Cruise). The last day of the event, May 5, included an exclusive press conference followed by a high-energy pool party hosted by DJ Jack Novak. The Grand opening of the All-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya was truly an unforgettable adventure in FUN. Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendly staff with champagne cocktails to start off the vacation mode and was escorted to my room by the bellman.

From a private Bon Jovi concert for guests only, red carpet with celebrities including Scott Disick. (Kardashians), Victoria Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, guitar smash to dancing the night away at Club Heaven it was an exciting night. (Note: no guitars were hurt that weren't slightly damaged already.) In true 'rock star' fashion the Hard Rock opted for a guitar smash in lieu of the traditional smashing of the champagne bottle for the grand opening. Guests relaxed and danced in the pool with unlimited beverages flowing and high-energy music, After the party we experienced the rock spa treatment, and for those channeling their inner rock star there was a Karaoke with a backup air band; music was everywhere.

Each HR hotel offers a unique experience depending on its location versus cookie cutter model. Couples can have a destination wedding and stay in Heaven and have their families stay in the same resort on the Hacienda resort. It is fun and relaxation all rolled into one place.
