Once a pivotal venue in the rise of women’s professional tennis, Sarasota’s Bath & Racquet Club is poised for a new chapter—this time as a fully integrated luxury residential and wellness community. The groundbreaking of Bath + Racquet Residences & Club, now underway, marks the official revival of a storied property, thoughtfully designed to honor its roots while embracing a thoroughly modern lifestyle vision.

Construction is actively progressing on the site, with all major subcontractors secured and mobilized. Move-ins are projected to begin by December 2026, ushering in a new era for one of Sarasota’s most iconic locations.

Founded in 1969, the original Bath & Racquet Club was more than a tennis facility—it was a cornerstone of Sarasota’s social and athletic life. The club’s clay courts played host to landmark events such as the Virginia Slims of Sarasota, featuring legends like Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. A former ATP World No. 2 who began his career training in Sarasota, Haas returns with a vision to elevate the club into a world-class sports and wellness hub. “This is an incredible full-circle moment for me,” Haas said. “I moved to this area when I was 11 years old to pursue my dreams of turning pro. I am thrilled to be part of bringing back this historic landmark, which holds a special place in Sarasota’s sporting history.”

At the heart of the community will be 256 luxury condominiums housed in low-rise, four-story buildings constructed with hurricane-rated concrete and impact-resistant windows. Importantly, the development sits outside of flood zones, offering additional peace of mind for future residents.
